sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
Itโ€™s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

What a week. This week felt chuck full of things that needed to be done, work and hot weather. It was a tiring week and I hope next week is just a boring routine week as I could really use that right now. On Sunday it was time to set-up my new computer. Thanks to some good months for Lola’s Blog Tours and some help form my mom and boyfriend I was finally able to afford a new computer. And it’s so amazing to have a quicker and newer computer now. I am so happy with it. But it is always a hassle to set everything up and install everything, so that took most of Sunday. Sadly we ran into a problem with my screen not being able to work well with the newer computer. It was hazy and gave me a massive headache trying to work with the hazy font. So I ended up buying a new screen too. It was old anyway and the next item on my list to replace, so it’s just a bit earlier now than I expected. And then there was an issue with the new screen too. It was pretty much perfect, but it had this weird thing where the bottom of the screen was a lot brighter/ bluer and the top of the screen darker and redder and that gradient went over the whole screen and it bothers my eyes. It’s not that bad on games or pictures, but it is when looking at mostly white screens with text, which is what I do most. Apparently it is a side effect of TN screens, so now I am getting a new screen and return this one. Such a shame as the screen was pretty much perfect, except for that issue and returning things is always such a hassle too.

It’s still ridiculously warm too. It went up to 29,5 degrees Celsius /85,1 degrees Fahrenheit in our home this week. And we don’t have an AC. We did got the small fan we have out of storage and put it on, which helped a bit. This weekend it did cool down a bit, which was great, we also finally got some rain. But it still warm in the house.

In between doing research for a new screen and other things that needed to be done, I tried to fit in as much work as I could. There was a media kit I had to sent out, a new cover reveal tat went live and I did some hours of assistant work as well. We also went out for dinner one evening and bought some delicious ice cream too.

With everything going on, I haven’t had much time to blog, reply to comments or visit other blogs. So I hope to have more time for that again next week.

What did I read this week?

Death Over EasyShattered at Sea

Both were the next books in two of my favorite cozy mystery series. Death Over Easy was really good. I liked seeing things progress and the mystery had some nice twists and the B&B addition to Robbie’s store was nice to read about. Shattered at Sea was a fun read, but the mystery didn’t really work for me.

What did I cook for dinner this week?

There’s nothing better than getting a new computer, right? The anticipation of things moving faster and doing new things is pretty cool, so congrats! You’re right! The downside is having to upload all your data from the old computer and getting it set up, which can be so tedious. So glad you got everything worked out. , so you’re ready to move on to the next project! Hugs…RO

    • It’s so awesome to finally have a new computer. Everything runs so much faster and smoother. And even my sounds sounds better. But yeah moving everything is a pain and I am sure I am still missing a few programs that I still need to install. Once my new screen is here, everything should be fine for now ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Getting a new computer or returning things is always a pain in the rear. Setting electronics up is always a slow process. Reading all the instructions and getting used to a new set up is slow going but once you’re used to it it’ll be great. But congrats on the new computer and screen I hope you like it a lot more.

    • Exactly, getting everything transferred and installed always takes a lot of time, but it’s awesome when everything works. I am still waiting on my other screen to arrive, but once I have that, everything should be perfect. I am very happy with my new computer and it works so much better on a new computer ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Oh yes, the replacing the computer even for a great new one can really be quite the process. Bummer about the screen being wonky.
    Nice haul of books.
Hopefully, this week will cool down and also be a calm one for you.

    • It sure was quite the process, but I am really happy with the new computer. I ordered another screen, so now I am waiting for that to arrive so I can return this one.

  4. New computers are so annoying. I use my old ones until they die because I donโ€™t like dealing with the setup problems. Once the problems are solved, new computers are the best, though. Everything runs so smoothly! I hope the weather cools down soon. Have a good week!

    • My old one was having problems for more than year now, so I thought it was time to finally invest in a new one. But it sure can be a hassle to get everything set-up the way you want it, with a new computer. Once that’s done having a new computer is the best.

  5. I just replaced the microwave a month or so ago. Congrats on your new computer! Too bad the screen didn’t work out. And so sorry you are suffering with the heat. I hate summer. Hope next week is better!

  6. Yay! I’m so glad to hear you got a new computer! I know your previous one had given you so many troubles. It’s too bad you had to replace the monitor and now replace THAT monitor too. What an annoyance. Hopefully that’ll be all over soon and you’ll be cruising along with no issues. Sorry to hear it’s so warm there. The weather is a little nuts this year!

    • I think I’ve been having troubles with my old computer for about a year now, so it’s awesome to finally have a new computer. I hope once the second new monitor is here, that’s the end of the replacing things. The weather sure is nuts this year, this week is a bit cooler, which already makes a lot of difference.

  7. Ooo… you won’t know yourself once you have ironed out the teething problems. I am so thrilled with my current model as it has saved me hours of time in comparison to my older workhorse. I hope your weather is a bit cooler – take care:)

  8. It is a hassle setting up a new comp, but I’m glad you finally got one! Sorry about the screen problems though, and the heat. I haven’t been bloghopping or replying to comments either or blogging much cuz tennis elbow acting up ๐Ÿ™ Hopefully we can both get back into it soon.

    • I am so happy with the new computer. Almost everything is set up by now :). The new screen arrived today, so I hope to replace the current one with that tomorrow and then return it.

Sorry to hear about your tennis elbow acting up again :(.
