sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This week felt very long and full somehow, but looking back I can’t even think of everything that happened. Lost of small things. It was the last week of May, so I finished up a lot of assistant work for the month and even made a start on June’s work. I also put a new sign-up post live on Lola’s Blog Tours.

We bought some new plants last week. Remember how a while ago I over watered one of your plants? I wanted a new plant to fill up it’s place and we had some plants that needed a larger pot, sow e went to the garden center to buy that and then ended up buying two more new plants as well. I spend some re-potting them all when we got home. I am happy with the new plants and the ones that got a bigger pot seem to be doing well too.

I am joining Coyer again this summer! I am going for the goal spring cleaning 11-20 books. I always enjoy this challenge and am looking forward to the start.

FalloutDeath Over Easy

I got both of these for review. I was so excited to finally have the second Scions book by Athena Grayson and started reading it immediately. Death Over easy is the fifth book in this cozy mystery that I am really enjoying so far and I hope book 5 is just as good.

What’s the last new plant you got?

  1. Love, Lies, and Hocus Pocus: Cat Magic looks so cute!

I hope you enjoy your new books, Death Over Easy sounds like a promising one; I’ve not heard of that series before so will have to check out book 1 I think 🙂

    • It was a very cute read and it’s a great series in general!

I would definitely recommend that series, it’s one of my favorite cozy mystery series :).

  2. It’s interesting how some weeks can feel off like that. Looks like you did get a lot done including your work with your little green leafy friends. I haven’t bought a plant in so long. I’ve had several plants that are ten to twenty years old that I split off as starters or give away starters to others when they get too big for their pots. Once in a while, I do think about trying a new different type of plant to add to the group, but I don’t have the space.

Nice spread of genre types and love seeing that most had above average ratings. Even though you’re in a weird reading mood, it looks like you got through several review commitment books and some you bought which is great. I just realized that I forgot to add my stats to the last monthly report.

    Have a great June, Lola!

    • Yeah it was just a bit of a weird week. I am glad with my new leafy friends :). We had some extra space for plants now that I over watered one and there’s another one that’s not looking too good, so it was nice to add some new ones. We’re also trying to start a second one off one of our current plants, but not sure if the roots will grow yet.

Thanks to your comment about my weird reading I realized I forgot to remove a line in my post that I copied from last month’s post. My reading mood has been quite good this month actually.

  3. My week seemed busy but not a lot happened.

I am reading the first one to Priestess Unleashed. So far I am liking it, I seem to be speeding through a lot of reverse harem, I am worried I am going to run out lol.

9 books is awesome! I have been doing better with the reading. I am hoping to be able to up my goodreads goal again for the summer. COYER Summer is what I hope will help me.

I hope you have a great week, Lola! Happy Reading! ox

    • I have had some weeks like that as well.

Let me know if you’re running out of Reverse Harem reads, there are so many of them (and more being released almost daily) you won’t be running out anytime soon. I am so excited to hear you’re reading Priestess Awakened! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts when you finished it.

I actually forgot to list one book, so it was 10 actually. But two were novella’s and one DNF, so it’s a pretty standard month for me if you don’t count those. I am looking forward to summer Coyer!

  4. Some weeks are like that, where I can hardly remember what I did! And yay for summer COYER- I should sign up too, that’s always fun. 🙂

Evolved and Ruthless Magic both look promising. And Death Over Easy looks fun. 🙂

  5. Yay for new plants! I literally have no clue how to care for plants. I don’t think I’ve ever cared for a single plant in my life lol. I’ve also been reading more adult than YA lately, although I think I’ve been reading more male POV books this year. Stats are always interesting!

    • I used to kill every plant I got pretty fast at first, but I am doing pretty well now. I’ve only read a few YA books this year, mostly adult. I always like seeing stats and am already curious how my end of the year stats will turn out.

    • I am the opposite, I do pretty well with indoor plants, but all our outdoor plants die off as we have too much wind on the balcony. So I just kept the pots outside and now we have plants growing there that seem to resist the wind, it’s probably weeds, but they look pretty.

    • It was only the second DNF this year, so that’s still pretty good. And most reads were great, so overall it was a good reading month.

  6. I couldn’t tell you how many books I read in a month. Sometimes I look on my Amazon account and count how many books I got that month and usually it’s way too many. One one click button is addicting. Hope you enjoy your plants. I used to have so many. They either died off or my cats ate them. So no plants as long as I have a cat. Have a great week!

    • I like to keep track of what I read on Goodreads and I also have a spreadsheet nowadays in which I track what I read and which genre it is etc.

Sorry to hear your plants either died or your cats ate them. We had a cat living here for a while when my sister was staying here, she always scooped the dirt out of the pots, so we had to protect them and didn’t have as many plants then. Since they moved out we increased the number of plants in our house.

    • They sure are. I really like buying new plants and it makes the house look so much greener with them around. That Maddie Day series is really good, it’s one of my favorite cozy series.

    • I over watered a plant earlier this year and often keep my plants in too small pots for a long time, so I make some mistakes with them too. But I feel like I am getting better at taking care of them, with the exception of that over watered plant, I am still not sure how that happened. And sometimes it’s just hard to find time for thing like that. I hope you get around to planting your lily soon!
