sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

Whew this was another busy week! Lots of work, some errands I had to to run and lunch with my mom! I had two events I organized take place this week, a cover reveal for Phi Alpha Pi by Sara Marks and the release day blitz for The Nerdy Necromancer by S.E. Babin. I put live a new sign-up post for a bookstagram blitz for Pas De Deux by Lynn Turner. I worked on some media kits and had contact with authors for future tours. And as it’s the last week of the month I am finishing up a lot of the assistant work for this month.

I went out for lunch with my mom this week and it was fun catching up and eating some nice bagels. I also won a giveaway this week, which was fun. The weather this week was a lot colder again than last week, which was kinda nice, but also a bit annoying how the temperatures keep going up and down suddenly.

One week I feel like my reading mood is going better and then the next week I feel like I am back in the weird reading mood. I enjoy books from authors I usually enjoy less than normal and I have no idea which book to pick up next and even when I enjoy the book I am reading I am easily distracted and pulled out of the story. Maybe I am just tired, I don’t know. But my Kobo reads still seem to have no problem with this, I just finished Overload Flux and it was so good! I am planning to dive into book 2 after I finished this one as I am already completely hooked on this series. I wonder if that might also contribute to my weird reading mood, that my Kobo read was so good that was all I wanted to read. I have the next book in a series by one of my favorite authors next on my ipad to-read list and I am hoping that will finally break my weird reading mood there.

What did I read this week?

Seducing KadenOverload Flux

Seducing Kaden was another solid read in this series, but I didn’t enjoy it as much as the previous books and I struggled a bit with some of the dark subject matter. I am sad I didn’t enjoy the book as much as I had hoped. Overload was so good I decided to give it a 5 star rating, the characters were well developed and awesome to read about, the romance was great and I liked discovering this sci-fi world. The balance between the romance and the sci-fi elements was really well done too.

What did I cook for dinner this week?

  1. It has been a really busy week for you, again! Maybe that’s the problem with the reading – you are so tired, you are finding it harder to concentrate on the books? Just a thought… The weather can’t be helping, either! I really love the sound of Overload Flux and as I have really enjoyed S.J. Pajonas on your recommendation, I’ll put this one on my list… I hope the coming week is a good one for you, Lola.

    • I think that might be it indeed, that I am so tired and busy that it’s hard to focus on reading. And maybe with my evening book I am able to relax then and get sucked into the book. Overload Flux was really good and I think you would enjoy it. Let me know what you think of it if you get around to reading it!

    • I agree it’s always fun to win something :). And it was nice to spent some time with my mom. I hope you had a fun time with your brother when he visited!

    • It was nice to catch up with my mom and the bagels were good. I am so happy I finally had a 5 star read this year and it was nice to win a giveaway!

I hope your reading mood/ slump gets better soon.

  2. Pumpkin curry sounds AMAZING. I haven’t made a peanut butter pasta, but I have made a peanut butter tofu curry. πŸ™‚

I’m currently reading Froi of the Exiles, listening to Autoboyography, and reading Before I Let You Go! All are wonderful so far!!

I found your blog on Bloggers Commenting Back, and now I’m following you via Bloglovin’! <3

    • A peanut butter tofu curry sounds good too! I don’t think I’ve made that combination before.

That’s good to hear all your current reads are wonderful so far! I hope it continues that way.

      Thanks for following my blog!

  3. Yay for busy week with work and getting lots done, even a fun lunch with your mom. Oh bagels, too. I haven’t had a bagel in a while. I should pick some up at the bakery. πŸ™‚
Bummer about the antsy reading issues. Maybe its seasonal. I’ve been struggling a little with that sort of distracted feeling, too. Or, yes, maybe its book depression after reading a really good one. Glad you loved it. Can’t wait to start the series now. πŸ™‚

Looks like a good haul this week and congrats on the giveaway win. Happy reading!

    • I like those weeks when i get a lot done and have some fun too. The bagels were great. I don’t eat them too often, but I do really like bagels.

This week was a pretty good reading week, so I hope it sticks. Overload Flux was so good and I am curious to hear what you think of it if you decide to pick it up. I am now reading book 2 in that series and the first book in this auhtor’s new series. Both are great!

    • Bagels are actually a bit hard to find here, but there are a few good bagels stores around.

Me too! I am so happy to have found a new to me sci-fi author whose books I really enjoy. I am currently reading book 2 in her sci-fi series.

I am almost done with Fukusha Model Eight! It’s really good!
