My To-Be Read List is a meme hosted by Because Reading is Better Than Real Life where at the beginning of the month visitors can choose which book I’ll be reading this month. On the first saturday of a month the poll will be up, then on the second saturday of the month I’ll announce the book that won and on the last saturday of the month I’ll post my review of the book.
Oh this month it really wasn’t a fair battle, but I am excited to announce that I will be reading and reviewing Owl and the Japanese Circus this month! Owl won by a big margin. Owl got 15 votes (71.43%) followed by A Moment to Love with 4 votes (19,05%) and September Sky with 2 votes (9,52%).
Owl and the Japanese Circus (The Adventures of Owl #1)
by Kristi Charish
You can find Owl and the Japanese Circus on Goodreads
Blurb:
Fans of Kim Harrison, Jim Butcher, and Linda Hamilton will flock to the kick-ass world of Owl, a modern-day “Indiana Jane” who reluctantly navigates the hidden supernatural world.Ex-archaeology grad student turned international antiquities thief, Alix—better known now as Owl—has one rule. No supernatural jobs. Ever. Until she crosses paths with Mr. Kurosawa, a red dragon who owns and runs the Japanese Circus Casino in Las Vegas. He insists Owl retrieve an artifact stolen three thousand years ago, and makes her an offer she can’t refuse: he’ll get rid of a pack of vampires that want her dead. A dragon is about the only entity on the planet that can deliver on Owl’s vampire problem – and let’s face it, dragons are known to eat the odd thief.
Owl retraces the steps of Mr. Kurosawa’s ancient thief from Japan to Bali with the help of her best friend, Nadya, and an attractive mercenary. As it turns out though, finding the scroll is the least of her worries. When she figures out one of Mr. Kurosawa’s trusted advisors is orchestrating a plan to use a weapon powerful enough to wipe out a city, things go to hell in a hand basket fast…and Owl has to pick sides.
Yay! I picked that one! I can’t wait to see what you think of it. I am very curious 🙂

I’m glad this one won, I love Indiana Jones so a modern day Jane take should be fun! Enjoy 🙂
I never watched Indiana Jones, so I have no idea if I like that or not. And the whole comparison things in blurb always rubs me wrong, although I have read some reviews which say it actually lives up to the comparisons. So we’ll see 🙂
