MyTBRList

My To-Be Read List is a meme hosted by Because Reading is Better Than Real Life where at the beginning of the month visitors can choose which book I’ll be reading this month. On the first saturday of a month the poll will be up, then on the second saturday of the month I’ll announce the book that won and on the last saturday of the month I’ll post my review of the book.

This month I decided to go with something different than cozy mysteries, which was my theme for the previous two months. I am feeling in a bit of a fantasy/ paranormal mood, so I selected three paranormal/ fantasy books. Two of these have been part of a poll before. Two are paranormal shifter romance and one is more fantasy. One first book in a series and two third books in the series. And all the covers are orange, lol.

Three brothers. Three Secrets. One hope to save the shifters of Seattle.
Former SEAL Jaxson River would give his life for his brothers and his pack, but if he doesn’t claim a mate soon, he’ll be forced to step down as their alpha. There’s only one problem: Jaxson’s dark secret would kill any mate he claimed. With someone kidnapping shifters off the street—and only Jaxson and his brothers, Jace and Jared, to stop them—now is not the time for his secret to come out.

Curvy Olivia Lilyfield is a half-witch orphan with a dark secret of her own. She wants to atone for it by doing good in the world, so when she finds a wolf being tortured in an alley, she doesn’t hesitate to help… even though wolves and witches mix like matches and TNT.

Olivia’s dangerous magic means she can’t let anyone get too close—but Jaxson can’t keep his hands off her, and his kisses are more than she can resist. As they race to save the disappearing shifters of Seattle, the true danger lies in loving each other. They’re playing with magical fire… and their secrets could end up destroying them both.

Jaxson is a complete novel with HEA, the first in the River Pack Wolves trilogy (Jace and Jared coming soon).

Contains scorching shifter sex, alpha military heroes, and sexy witches. Only readers over 18 should dive into the deliciously hot world of the River brothers.

When Kay and Ada are sent there with the other Ambassadors, they’re thrown into the centre of chaos. Nature is alive, and angry.

Ada embraces the magic she still half-fears, but learning to control it proves harder than she can imagine. Kay, meanwhile, becomes more reckless than ever when testing the boundaries of his own abilities. When faced with living magic, no one is safe from its influence. Ada and Kay must choose what they’re willing to risk for the sake of saving a world that might already be doomed. Can mortals overcome the gods?

    • The first two books in that series were fun, so I bought the third one and still haven’t gotten around to it. I am hoping I can read it soon.

    • What a coincidence that your son’s name is Jaxson, definitely a good reason to vote for that one. I own quite some of this author her books now, but haven’t read any of them yet and I am in the mood for a good shifter book. It’s been a while since I read a shifter book. And the dolphin series I want to catch-up on soon too as it’s a fun one so far.

  1. I went with Dangerous Tides because wolf shifters…erm, no (I like wolves, but not as humans :)), and Collision sounds too sci-fi for my taste.
I’m actually not big on shifters at all, so I admit I had some trouble choosing lol.

    • I like all kinds of shifters and haven’t read a shifter book in awhile. I have read the first two books and it’s more fantasy than sci-fi in my opinion, although I love both genres.
I am enjoying the Dolphin Shore shifters series so far, the first two books were fun.

    • That’s what I love about this meme as well, it’s so fun to hear from my friends what they want me to read next and why and help me decide :).

It’s a good series so far, so I hope I can read the third book soon.

    • I always love to find unusual shifters in books, I would like to see more of the rare type of shifters. There isn’t much attention to the dolphin shifter aspect in the books, but they are good so far!

    • Oh I didn’t realize it was the same guy that was on your review journal, that’s a fun coincidence.
I love the concept of the dolphin shifters so far and it’s a romantic suspense too, so it would count for my genre challenge as well.

    • I know, they all sound so good. It’s always difficult to pick my next read when I have so many different ones I want to be reading.

    • It’s a tie between Jaxon and Dangerous Tide at the moment and Collision isn’t far behind. It sure sounds like I made it a hard choice this month. And indeed they all look great!
I wish I could read them all this month, but I have a few deadline books to read first (which both sounds great too), so only space for one more Kobo book this month probably.
