They killed my sister and infected me.
Now I have to pick up the pieces before I die.

I’ve spent the last five months trying to find the bastard who did this. Yet, even with the help of a hot amnesiac vampire named Jude, I’ve had zero luck.

Until now. And it could change everything. Even though I grew up in a family that hunted the supernatural, there were still things I didn’t believe in.

Now I have to hurry for the slim chance that I could save us all. Because when you fight against immortal vampires, you’re the one who’s running out of time.

When Ella finds out Tony doesn’t have a partner for the Dancing With the Firefighters’ benefit–which is offering a large cash prize–and he hits upon hiring her as Johnny’s tutor, it looks like their problems might be solved. But taking dance lessons to win the competition sets alight a burning attraction between them. Can they let go and learn to trust again, or will the scars of their pasts still haunt them?

Burying WaterBurying Water (Burying Water #1)
by K.A. Tucker

Blurb:
The top-selling, beloved indie author of Ten Tiny Breaths returns with a new romance about a young woman who loses her memory—and the man who knows that the only way to protect her is to stay away.

Left for dead in the fields of rural Oregon, a young woman defies all odds and survives—but she awakens with no idea who she is, or what happened to her. Refusing to answer to “Jane Doe” for another day, the woman renames herself “Water” for the tiny, hidden marking on her body—the only clue to her past. Taken in by old Ginny Fitzgerald, a crotchety but kind lady living on a nearby horse farm, Water slowly begins building a new life. But as she attempts to piece together the fleeting slivers of her memory, more questions emerge: Who is the next-door neighbor, quietly toiling under the hood of his Barracuda? Why won’t Ginny let him step foot on her property? And why does Water feel she recognizes him?

Twenty-four-year-old Jesse Welles doesn’t know how long it will be before Water gets her memory back. For her sake, Jesse hopes the answer is never. He knows that she’ll stay so much safer—and happier—that way. And that’s why, as hard as it is, he needs to keep his distance. Because getting too close could flood her with realities better left buried.

The trouble is, water always seems to find its way to the surface.

Now it’s time to vote!

    • Knowing you liked this series so much was part of the reason I wanted to read it :). I enjoyed the first Whistle Stop book and I like the sound of A Moment to Dance even more than the first book, so I just have to read it.
I hope you’ll join this meme again! I think it’s a great way to feature some books and get help deciding what to read it.

    • I heard good things about this series and I haven’t read any Tucker books so far.

I read another book by the author of Damned if I Do and really enjoyed it, so when she asked me if I wanted to review this one as I jumped on the chance.

    • The first book is the series wa spretty cute as well, although I had a few issues with the romance, but as this book features another couple I wanted to continue the series. And it has an awesome small town setting. I hope the dog plays a role in the story!

    • I actually started Damned if I Do yesterday evening (even though as it looks now it won’t win) as all this talk about these books makes me want to read them all.
The vampires are creepy and evil, but there’s also a good vampire and they are pretty smart about how they eat and such. So far I really like it, it’s a bit dark and gritty, but it fits the story.

    • Well looks like Burying Water is going to win, it’s still on top with the majority of votes. I actually already started reading Damned if I Do as these polls always make me want to read all three books.
I heard so many good things about Burying Water I eventually decided to give the series a try, I hope I’ll enjoy it!
