Coyer Winter 2016-2017
Coyer is a reading challenge hosted by Michelle from Because Reading is Better Than Real Life, Berls from Fantasy is More Fun and Stormi from Books, Movies, Reviews Oh My!.

I am excited to announce that I’ll be participating in the Winter Coyer again this year. Coyer is one of my favorite reading challenges and I am always looking forward to the next one. This Coyer will be a bit stricter than normal, as you can only read books you got for free or for less than 1$. Luckily I have a lot of books that fit that rule, although I’ll probably will read some books that don’t count for Coyer during this time as well. I am not going to set any goals, we’ll see how many books I can get read :). I also hope to participate in at least 1 twitter party, but if possible like to attend all 3.

Will you be participating in Coyer? What’s your favorite reading challenge?

  1. Good luck with the challenge, Lola. I have a ton of books that fit the new rules, too. I’m doing COYER and going for 40 books, but we’ll see. I really want to take a chunk out of my freebie and cheap books.

    • Same here I hope I can read a lot of review books and a chunk of the freebies and cheap books I got as well if possible. The winter challenge usually is a bit stricter than summer, but it’s fun to see how the challenge is a bit different each time.

      • The rule that states all books must be under $1…with the exchange rate here in the UK that means under 80p! I’ve never seen a book for sale on Amazon UK at 80p or less! The lowest cheap book on I’ve bought on Amazon UK is 99p. All my non free purchases are between 99p and ยฃ2. To take part I’d have to use only free books and as I get my ebooks from different sites, it’ll be impossible to find out what was free when I got it. I also don’t read ARCs so my options are too limited I’m afraid.

        • In the facebook group someone asked that question and it just counts for what the US price for that book would be if I remember correctly. I always pay more than 0.99$ because I live in the Netherlands and have to pay VAT. But as long as the book is 0.99$ in the US when you got it, it counts.

It can be tricky to find or remember where you got a book and how pricey it was, I am sure I’ll ed up looking that up for some books as I can’t remember all of them.

          • I bought all my books on Amazon.co.uk, not Amazon.com so how would I possibly find out what price the books I want to read for the challenge were on Amazon.com 6 months ago or a year ago at the time I bought them on Amazon.co.uk? I can’t access that information as I’ve never bought from the American site!

  2. Good luck with COYER!! I love COYER but I’m skipping this one- too strict for me. ๐Ÿ™‚ I don’t have enough of the lower priced books so I’d struggle. Still it sounds fun and I hope everyone has a blast! Happy reading. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • They are pretty strict with this one, I probably will read some books that won’t count as well, but I should be able to read quite some books that do count. I pick up a lot of freebies and ofcourse the review copies and picked up a lot of 0.99$ books this year with won amazon gift card money.

    • I am pretty sure I will read some books that won’t count, but there are so many books that fit the rules that I am sure I can still get a bunch of books read for the challenge :).
