Liebster Award Nomination

I got nominated for an award! This is the first time my blog got nominated. I got nominated by Orisi from the blog Orisi’s blah blah blah. So I already made the draft for this post, but never got around to finishing it, until I got nominated a second time by Julie from JA Belfields blog. So I am going to answer both of their series questions. The Liebster blog award is an award for blogs with fewer than 200 followers. It’s a way of showcasing different blogs and more importantly discover new ones! And I totally copied this description… Read more »

About Me: Pre-orders

About Me: Pre-orders

Today I want to talk about pre-orders. I love pre-ordering books, so at any time I usually have between 5-10 books on pre-order. I only pre-order paperbacks, because pre-ordering e-books usually require a credit card, which I don’t have. And because I buy almost all my paperbacks on The Bookdepository, that’s also the place where I place all my pre-orders. Why do I pre-order books? I think part of the reason why I pre-order books is, because it’s easy. I am now thinking about a book that isn’t releashed, decide I want it, I pre-order it and then I don’t… Read more »

Blogger Interview Saturday: Lola’s Reviews

Blogger Interview Saturday: Lola’s Reviews

Since I started this blog I have interviewed a different blogger every week. Sadly I have to announce that I won’t be able to do a Blogger Interview Saturday every week anymore. The reason for this is that I already interviewed most of the blogger that are close friends of mine and it’s getting more and more difficult to find new blogger to interview. It is actually quite difficult to find bloggers to interview. Also it may not seem like it, but I put a lot of time in the blogger Interview Saturday posts every week and I just can’t… Read more »

About Me #5: What to do with spoilers

About Me #5: What to do with spoilers

Today I want to talk about Spoilers. It is surprisingly easy to get spoiled before reading a book. I hate getting spoiled before reading a book, but sometimes it is so difficult to avoid spoilers. And when you look at it from the point of view of the person who post the spoiler, what can you say about a book without spoiling anyone? What is a spoiler? I would define a spoiler as everything that gives away something about a book or part of a book you haven’t and makes reading the book less fun. That’s really broadly, but… Read more »

About Me #4: Deciding What to Read

About Me #4: Deciding What to Read

I always state that I am the type of reader that read whatever I am in the mood for (I even worded it like that in my Review Policy). So my mood mostly decides what book to read. Ofcourse this sounds really easy, but it often isn’t. Often I know what book I am in the mood for, often I don’t know it excatly and just end up starting something and sometimes (like now) I want to read, but have no idea what to read. And I also have Review books  to consider, I try to regulary read a review… Read more »

About Me # 3: Beta Reading

About Me # 3: Beta Reading

So I really wanted to do another About Me post this week. Partly because I wanted to showcase my new About Me button, isn’t it gorgeous? The awesome Faye from the blog A Daydreamers thoughts made it and she even included the pony picture a friend of mine made for my blogbanner. So I had planned to do this post about books and moving as I just moved to my new house, but then I realized that I would like to include some pictures in that post, for example of my epic bookcase room. My bookcase room is still full… Read more »

About Me # 2: Writing Reviews

About Me # 2: Writing Reviews

Those of you who follow me for some time already, probably know a bit about how I write my reviews. In this post I’ll explain how and why I write my reviews. I also explain how I started writing reviews. Why and how I started writing reviewsI wrote my first reviews on a dutch site where you can buy books and write reviews of them, called bol.com. These reviews were just a few sentences of what I thought about the book. I thought it was nice to help other people decide whether this was a book for them or not…. Read more »
