sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This week was again a struggle mentally. I struggled a lot with feeling down, tired, stressed and anxious. I just keep feeling rushed and like I should do more and then tired and down because of overdoing it so much in the past few weeks. And then anxious as well. I am trying to relax more and take care of myself, but it’s been hard. I did start feeling a bit better toward the end of the week.

I also got some gut symptoms from a dish I thought should be totally fine and still have no clue why that causes symptoms. Sometimes I feel like I am doing so well and then other times things like that happen and I feel like I still don’t know enough. I did find a new brand of chocolate chip covered gluten-free cookies that my gut was okay with and they tasted good! It’s so hard sometimes to find tasty GF products that my gut can handle, so every time I do find one it feels like a small victory.

We didn’t make as much progress with cleaning up this week, after we had a mouse in our house a few weeks ago, but we did do one important task. We have this small cabinet in which electricity and water enters our house and we cleaned that as the mouse had been there a fair bit and then installed this anti-mouse strip at the bottom of the door so no mice can enter or leave that space again. There was this corner bit that didn’t quite work out well and we have to find a new solution for it, but the rest of it turned out really well and looked good. We have a store nearby which for a very small fee cut the strip in the right size, so that was handy.

Later in de week someone stopped by to do a brief check to make sure our ventilation system in the house is still working well. We thought they would clean out the whole system, but it turned out to be a brief test only. That was a bit confusing and I hate having people in the house, so that’s always stressful.

Besides that I managed to do a bit of assistant work. My mom had her second chemo and wasn’t feeling too well after that.

  1. I can understand the anxiousness. I’m still so out of whack that I’m watching a perfectly healthy young dog and found myself having to check to make sure he was breathing when he was sleeping or getting worried if he made any sounds while sleeping. I’m just so used to being on high alert with Dora and Argyle I guess that my nervous system won’t let me relax. I also hate when someone comes out and you think it’s for one thing and then that’s not what they do. I thought a company I had a “warranty” type plan with was coming to do an electricity check of my house and they did plumbing instead. And of course they found some expensive thing they said I needed to do. Which I chose not to of course because it wasn’t actually needed at that time. Hope that you have a better week!

It’s hard to really let go of that anxiety after being on high alert for so long. I hope you can get to relax more soon. I was very confused the appointment was just for a check as that was not what we were informed of. That is weird that appointment you had was for plumbing instead of electricity.

  2. I know I am going to continue feeling anxious until this election is over, hoping that Americans are coming to their senses and this horrible stuff ends. I know it will take time though. I also HATE having people in the house. We continue to try to find recipes and products that taste good.

  3. I hate it when a safe food suddenly causes a problem like that. Glad you found some good cookies though. I also hate having people in the house, sorry you had to deal with that too while already stressed. At least you managed to do some assistant work and read some books <3

I still don’t know where I went wrong with the dish and what ingredient was the problem. I really hate having people in the house, but glad it is done at least.

We do have a decent amount of GF stuff her,e but still a lot less choice than the gluten stuff and as I have to eat low-FODMAP as well it can be hard to find things I can eat and that taste good as well. So finding those cookies really felt like a win.
