sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

I started this week still feeling the results of my migraine from last week, my body still hurt and I was feeling very tired. Somehow I ended up dealing with that for a few more days. It also was very warm weather again and I didn’t sleep well and just stayed tired. It got a bit cooler later in the week luckily. And there was a big fire in a piece of nature nearby, which was sad to hear as a bunch of the nature has burned down. It’s been very dry here and there are all these warning signs to be careful with fire and heat when entering those areas, but guess something still went wrong.

I also struggled more with gut symptoms this week, ever since eating something wrong late last week my gut hasn’t been very happy and I had some days with more symptoms. The bloating has been very bad this week and I just don’t know why. I bought some lactase pills to try so I can eat some lactose if I like without symptoms. I’ve been looking into more enzymes to see if they can help with my symptoms and allow me to eat more products again. My mom bought some products for me from a glutenfree bakery she found and it was fun to try out some new products. There was a bread, chocolate chip cookies as well as a lemon cake, they were all delicious.

  1. Sorry you were struggling with leftover issues from the migraine this week. I think I might be slightly lactose intolerant myself, but I refuse to give up cheese as it is my favorite food, so I guess I just suffer. Of course my stomach gets upset when I get nervous or stressed and with Dora’s health issues again this week that was not fun either. Here’s hoping for a better week for us both!

You can try the lactase enzyme, I’ve been trying that and it;s working well so far, maybe it works for you too. You just take it before you eat dairy. My stomach also easily gets upset when I am stressed or nervous, which is a pain as it just makes the issue worse. I am sorry you’re dealing with health issues for your dog again.

  2. You have my sympathies regarding the migraine. And although I’ve largely recovered from my Long Covid, I can no longer eat onions without suffering stomach issues – which can be a challenge. I hope you find out what has been upsetting your digestion and glad you’ve been able to find some enjoyable snacks. Have a better week, Lola.

The migraine was a bad one this time. I didn’t realize you struggled with stomach issues from your long covid and can no longer eat onions. I really hope I can get back to eating onions again eventually as I miss eating them.

I think this time mine was worse due to the stress and gut issues, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the weather plays a role as well as the hot weather seems to make them worse too.

Sorry to hear you also had a rough week. I am glad your daughter figured out what works for her issues, that gives me hope I can figure mine out as well. The lactose pills seems to help when I want to eat dairy.

  3. I’m glad you got to try some bakery items. Fire is so scary. It’s so dry here, we’re in drought conditions and fire scares me. You just never know how it will react or how it will move.

It was scary to have a fire so close by and have it burn through so much nature. It usually doesn’t get as dry here and it’s definitely been scary. It was fun to try the glutenfree bakery items.

The bakery treat definitely were a highlight in a mostly miserable week with the health issues and the fire.

  4. Sorry to hear your still dealing with the ramifications of the migraine from the week before. It takes me a while to get over them too. 🙁 Tides Wait For No Witch looks awesome, I can’t wait to hear about it!

I haven’t had such a bad migraine in a while and it really took a long time to recover from it. Tides Wait For No Witch was great and I really enjoyed it.
