sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This week was dealing with the faucets and the internet issue. On Tuesday we replaced our old faucets for the dishwasher and laundry machine as one didn’t work anymore at all and the other was leaking. The whole process went smoothly, but sadly once we put on the dishwasher there was a small leak. So we redid the whole thing again afterwards, it all seemed fine and no leak, but then the next day when we put the dishwasher on there was again a very small leak. We can’t turn the faucets tighter as they won’t point down anymore, so they aren’t usable then. For now I just put some cloth around it as it really is only a very small amount of water that comes from it. We think maybe we need to replace the Y part the faucets are attached to as it doesn’t look in the best of state anymore or something about how we applied the tape to the faucets wasn’t sufficient. We didn’t have the energy to work on this more, so just let it be for now.

Then Wednesday there was the internet maintenance so we were hoping that would fix our internet issues, but sadly no such luck. It did seem to work a tiny bit better, but not very significant change, so we had to wait for the person from the internet service provider to arrive on Friday and try and fix it. That did resolve it and with their help we could figure out what was the problem. So luckily our internet is working again.

So that took quite some time and energy, besides that I did a bit of assistant work for the author I work for. I’ve been feeling a bit tired and down this week with the annoying issues of the faucets and internet going on and not being an easy fix.

  1. Ugh to plumbing issues. I had someone come out to fix my garbage disposal and slow draining side of the sink. They were there less than half an hour and it cost $125. It’s crazy. But he said that while he got the disposal working, it could get messed up again at any time, so he also gave me an estimate to replace it, and I want a better faucet for my sink too, so had him add that. Glad you got your internet working again, that is such a big thing in our lives these days. I mean we can’t even watch tv without it! I need to get working on my second book I think. Maybe this week I’ll start getting more of my summer plans done. Hope you have a good week!

Sorry to hear about your issues with the garbage disposal and slow draining. I hate issues like that and that’s very pricey to resolve. Good luck getting started on your second book!

  2. It was all a bear, for sure, but I’m glad the fixes are done for your plumbing and internet. Both are impossible to live without. 🙂
Nice that you were able to work on a project for one of your authors and it looks like you got a nice stack of books read this past week.

Hope this week is better, Lola!

  3. Jeeze, Lola, it sounds like you had a frustrating week. I’m sorry. I hear ya about the internet problems, though. It feels like every time I turn around, mine goes down too. (It happened again last night, too.) I hope you get things figured out, soon, and have a better week. Looking forward to your review of Locked in Magic. It seems interesting.

It was a frustrating week. Sorry to hear about your internet problems, I hope you can get those resolved soon. Locked in Magic was a good one and my review is live now :).

  4. Urg – leaks are the worst. More so, because as you’ve found – you often find you fix one problem and the water pressure finds another weak spot… As for the internet – I always feel I’m minus a limb when ours packs up. And as your work also requires access – thank goodness it’s fixed. Very much hoping this week is a better one, Lola!

The new leak is probably because we didn’t install it perfectly instead of a new one. Having the internet fixed really was a great relief as it’s such a hassle being without internet or with bad internet in this case.
