sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This week somehow felt very busy, with some smaller things not going smoothly. I continued figuring out what I can eat and what not to lessen my gut symptoms and this week realized I kept having symptoms after eating sourdough bread, despite that being low-FODMAP, so the search began for new bread to try. I found a new sourdough bread to try as well as some glutenfree breads, so hopefully one of those works better for my gut and tastes good. It’s been tough getting enough relaxation and calm moments in as I easily get stressed with all the food stuff and a big formatting job I am working. I did get a nice bike ride in this week and the spring weather has been lovely.

On Friday I had the introduction appointment with the new doctor, that went well. So now they just need to process our information and that’s all set too. Glad to have that done, but it was tiring.

And I did a bunch of work on a big formatting job I’ve been working on for a few weeks now. I made some good progress, but also had to go back and make some changes to books I had already finished. Hopefully I can finish the last few books I need to format this week and then make any changes the author wants to wrap it all up.

What did I read this week?

Flipping Hearts and HomesAppalachian AwakeningThe Suffering of Fools

Flipping Hearts and Homes was a great low angst romance and Appalachian Awakening was a re-read. The Suffering of Fools was decent, but didn’t quite hit the mark for me and could’ve used more expanding and details.

This week I blogged about:

Review: Viscounts & Villainy by Allie Therin
Review: Sailor’s Jewel by Celia Lake
Review: The Truth About Justice by Laura Greenwood

What to expect next week on the blog:

– Review: An Introvert’s Guide to Life and Love by Lauren Appelbaum
– Review: A Poisonous Pour by Maddie Day
– Review: A Mythical Case of Homicide by Melissa Erin Jackson

How was your week?

  1. I love sourdough bread. Hope your new taste test works better for the breads. Yay for a lovely spring bike ride and for getting lots of formatting work done.

    Have a good week, Lola!

I am glad sourdough bread should be safe to eat still, I just need to eat one that doesn’t contain rye as that is a problem apparently. The formatting is going well and I should hopefully finish with that this week :).

Thanks! It’s been a struggle figuring it all out, but hopefully I can find some breads that work for me. And I hope to finish the formatting job this week.

  2. Finding glutenfree bread that tastes good is a chore but I have to think it would be easier there than USA where many things are too processed. With your medical stuff set up and lovely weather, hopefully this week will be a great one.

I think I found one glutenfree bread that tastes good so far and I have a few more options I want to try. There isn’t that many choice when it comes to glutenfree bread. I am glad I got the doctor stuff sorted out now. Hopefully this week is a good one.

I think I have two sourdough breads that I can eat, just have to check to make sure and how much of it I can eat. I got some glutenfree bread that tastes good too.

  3. Really glad you’ve found bread that you can eat – I tend to eat only sourdough these days as I was really shocked when I discovered how much sugar is added to ordinary bread. And sugar is NOT my friend these days. I hope major formatting job comes to a straightforward end and this week is a good one for you.

Sourdough bread turned out to be one of the few breads I can eat, but I had to avoid the one that contained rye as that didn’t agree with me. I also found some glutenfree breads that work. I am mostly done with the formatting job now and it was good to wrap that up.

  4. Well some good stuff, the doctor visit went well and you’re still learning what you can eat. I hope you find out what is good and not good for your stomach.

It is a whole process figuring out what I can eat and what not, but I am making progress so that’s good.
