sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a bit of a weird week. I think I was dealing with the relief of my fan noise issue finally being resolved. I had some days I didn’t want to do anything and then other days were I had way too much antsy energy and overdid it.

I got a bunch of cleaning around the house done, got in a nice bicycle ride in nature, I did some more work on the formatting for a blogger friend as well as some assistant work for the author I work for. I also called my sibling and we chatted a bit about their PhD defense last week and their plans for the future.

For my gut issues I am trying 2 weeks of eating lactose free to see if that makes any difference. I only just started so not sure if I am seeing any difference yet.

My apologies for not being around visiting blogs much lately, I hope to get back to that soon.

What did I read this week?

ComplementaryBlack Sands of HadesDead and Berried

I also DNF’d two books A Whiff of Murder and A Bush Tea Murder

This week I blogged about:

Review: Sword & Thistle by S.L. Rowland
Review: Ancient Trust by Celia Lake
Review: Keeper & Kindred by Toni Binns
Review: Dragon Tower Gambit by Laura Greenwood

  1. Wishing you a much better week ahead! Cleaning definitely has a way of being cathartic. That’s awesome that you got out for a bike ride; nature walks are my personal favorite way to recharge. It looks like you had a solid week of reading and reviewing, too!

I really love getting out in nature for a nice walk or cycle and we have a lot of nature around here, which is nice. It sure was nice to get some cleaning done too.

  2. Well you are doing some awesome work for my book! I can’t wait to get it published! Right now I’m trying to decide once I get it what date I want to shoot for to publish it. I know it doesn’t matter as a self published author, but I saw another author pick special dates, and I kind of want to do that myself. I’m thinking to pick the 22nd because my birthday is October 22nd, so then I’ll just remember those are the days I publish? If I finish any more books, lol. I think I might have a little lactose intolerance, but I love cheese too much to give that up. I also ended up DNFing my first book of the month this week. Hope you have a great week!

I am glad I could format your book for you, it was fun to do and I hope you can get it published soon. I agree that picking a date to publish that’s easy to remember might be fun. I recently read that if you have some lactose intolerance you can take lactase pills before eating diary to reduce symptoms that way you don’t have to stop eating it altogether. I thought it was easiest to just remove all lactose products first to see if it was an issue as I don’t really eat a lot of it. Sorry to hear you had a DNF too.

I read about that and it’s nice taking those pills is an option for dairy intolerances. I don’t eat as much lactose so I thought it would be easiest to remove it all first to see if that might be the cause.

  3. What a relief to get rid of the fan noise issue! I love that you got to go out on a bike ride and got lots of housecleaning and author work done. March’s spring energy does that sort of thing to me, too.
Too bad about the pair of DNFs, but best to move on if a book’s not grabbing you. Fun that you had a sibling chat and way to go on their reaching the doctoral defense work.

    Have a great week, Lola!

It is such a relief to be rid of the fan noise. And there’s so much nature around here for some nice bike rides, it’s really nice. And it felt good to get some cleaning done with the energy I had.
It was sad I had two DNF’s, but it also felt good to set them aside and move on to another book.
