The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This week was a bit of a mixed one. I had some days with interruptions in my routine due to there being a lot of snow and the roads got slippery so I couldn’t go outside. My current shoes don’t work well and I almost fell multiple times the one day I did brave the roads, so I ordered some new shoes that should work better for on snow, so hopefully next time I am more prepared. I don’t deal well with changes in routine, so that was tough to deal with. Luckily later in the week the snow disappeared and I could go out again and get some errands done.
I also contacted my doctor again as my symptoms of bloating and acid reflux I’ve been dealing with since the move last year still haven’t gone away, there are some tests they want to do and I can start with a medicine after that. So let’s hope that will finally figure out what’s going on and resolve it.
I managed to get a bit of assistant work done for the author I work for. As well as some chores and cleaning around the house, which felt good to get done.
I shared my Reading Goals for 2026 this week, which was fun to write. I liked doing this last year and I enjoyed picking some goals again for this year.
What did I read this week?
This week I blogged about:
– Review: Death in the Haunted Wood by Kim Griswell
– Review: Vitamin Sea by Maia Ross
– Review: The Tattered Cover by Ellery Adams
– Lola’s Ramblings: Reading Goals for 2026
What to expect next week on the blog:
– Review: You Can Stop Now by Amogh Swamy
– Review: The Coffee House Witch & The Cursed Clock by Ariana Jade
– Review: Ruins of Knowledge by Laura Greenwood

Ooh, Hunter’s Treasure looks like one I might enjoy, I’ll be checking back for your review of that! Hope your new shoes help with that. I bought some new little boots for snow for taking my dogs out and we haven’t had much of that this year yet. I’m trying to get my book editing finished up so I can hire you to help me format my book! Hope you have a good week!

It was an okay read, I didn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted, but the treasure hunting plot line and island setting were fun. I hope the new boats work better for walking in the snow as I don’t want to fall. I look forward to formatting your book :).
Glad you were able to do some things. I hope your weather improves so you can get out more easily.

Luckily no snow this week, so it was easier to get out at least.
Sorry about your bloating symptoms – I was struggling badly and discovered after having covid that I no longer could eat onions, drat it! I really love them, but it’s not worth the misery. I hope they get to the bottom of your issues and you start to feel better soon. And I hope you enjoy Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea as much as I did – though I would say that the series continued to get better as it went on. Have a better week, Lola:)).
I eat a lot of onions, so I would be sad it I could no longer eat them. I do wonder if it’s something I eat as often that as the bloating is pretty consistent. I hope they can figure out the cause soon as it’s bothersome dealing with these symptoms for so long. Good to know the series gets better as it continues as I didn’t enjoy Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea as much as I had hoped, but there were parts I liked.
Yes, driving in the snow isn’t fun. I bought a pair of snow booties last year that I really like. I hope the ones you ordered work out. I’d like to try Ellery Adams at some point. Her cozies look fun!
I hope the new snow boats I ordered work out as it would be nice to be able to out easier when it snows. I really like this Ellery Adams series, still have to try some of her other series.
Well, hopefully the doctor can figure something out for you.
I sure hope so as this has been going on for a while now.
I hope your weather and health improve this week!
Thanks!
I feel a bit of cabin fever whenever the weather won’t let me get outside, too. Hopefully, your doctor will figure out your heath concern. Yay, for getting some work and chores done to feel productive.
Have a good week, Lola!
It was rough not being able to go outside, luckily this week no snow anymore. I sure hope the doctor can figure out what’s causing these symptoms.
