The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This was a rough week. I was sick for a big part of the week and felt pretty miserable, then after that my boyfriend got sick. I feel mostly better now, just a few symptoms remaining, while my boyfriend is pretty sick now.
We also had a big kitchen repair to deal with. When we moved into our new house and the new kitchen got installed they messed up with the kitchen counter and the two separate pieces didn’t align correctly. They now resolved that. Luckily the people who resolved the issue were very capable and the kitchen looks so much better now. They also fixed a few other things and we’re very grateful for their efforts. It was tough to deal with that while being sick and we couldn’t use our kitchen for a bit after that.
I didn’t really get much done besides trying to recover from my sickness, doing the bare minimal of household chores and dealing with the kitchen repair, but I did manage to work a bit more on my best of 2025 posts, I finished my favorite ebooks post and made progress on my favorite books with neurodivergent characters post. So that was nice to get done.
Then since Friday evening my computer has been making this really annoying whirring sound, it started suddenly and it makes the noise even when I am not doing anything. I am very sensitive to sound and it’s driving me crazy. I already tried updating everything to hope that would resolve it, the next option is removing any dust form inside and hoping that is causing it. If not it might be hardware that needs replacing which is a pain. Doing anything behind my computer is almost impossible now unless I wear earplugs, so that’s super annoying and not what I wanted to deal with.
What did I read this week?
This week I blogged about:
– Review: Murder at Last Chance Cove by Kim Griswell
– Review: Extraordinary Quests for Amateur Witches by Kayla Cottingham
– Review: Justice is a Choice by Laura Greenwood
What to expect next week on the blog:
– Review: Mantras & Minotaurs by Ashley Bennett
– Review: The Sweet Spot by Layla Reyne
– Review: Princesses & Pastries by Laura Greenwood

Glad you are feeling better! Hope your boyfriend feels better soon.
My mom got sick this weekend too. I hope everyone gets better soon, being sick is not fun, especially with the other issues you’ve been dealing with. I’m glad that at least your kitchen is fixed up now. I hope this week is better for you!

I’m glad you are getting better. It’s annoying to deal with repairs and computer problems. My computer is almost 5 years old so it might need replacing at some point. I’m hoping it will last longer as it’s working fine.

Having to deal with computer issues and kitchen fixes are not fun without being sick, so I’m sure it was even more trying! I hope you and your BF feel better!
What a shame you both were feeling lousy, but I’m glad you’re on the mend and your kitchen project was finally finished properly. My computer has a loud fan that kicks in often and it distracts me sometimes, too, so I get why you are distracted. Look forward to seeing your “Best of” posts.
Have a good week, Lola!
I hope you are both feeling better and enjoying your finished kitchen!
Have a wonderful week
Glad the kitchen repair fixed the issues you were having – it’s the worst when you have something new installed, and it doesn’t get done right!
Glad you are both recovering – it must have been rough to have to cope with home improvements while so unwell. Though it’s such a relief when the repair is done and looking better. I hope the coming week is a kinder one, Lola – impressed that you’ve got some of your end-of-year posts nailed:)).
