sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This week was again a struggle with my low energy levels and mood due to the gloomy days, we did have a few sunnier days, which were nice. And using my daylight lamp again in the late afternoon has been helping to have more energy in the evenings.

I called my mom to see how she was doing now that she’s home and she’s doing well enough, but her recovery will still take a while and it was an adjustment for her to be out of the hospital again.

I started working on my favorite reads of the year posts and mostly finished the one for my favorite audiobooks. I always enjoy doing these posts and it was fun to look back at al the amazing listens I had this year.

And it seems I caught a cold or the flu as I am not feeling very well currently.

What did I read this week?

Vitamin SeaDining with PoseidonRescuing Krampus

I also finished Shadow Prophet, which I’ll review as the series box set. Only one more book to go, it’s a good series so far.

This week I blogged about:

Review: Contracts & Cats by Toni Binns
Review: Not a Free Ion by Elinor Wilder
Review: The Guise Of Justice by Laura Greenwood

  1. Ugh, I hope the cold or whatever you caught goes away quickly! My mom is having issue with being lonely and I suggested maybe she look into the sun lamp too. I need to start figuring out my top 10 lists for the end of the year, but haven’t had time with the craziness in my life. Hoping maybe this week to have some time. I hope you have a good week!

Sadly it’s not going away quickly, I am still feeling miserable :(. Sorry to hear about your mom being lonely. I can definitely recommend a daylight lamp, it mostly helps with seasonal low energy and mood this time of year, not sure if it helps for loneliness. I made another top 10 posts this week, hope to get the rest done soon.

  2. Bummer about the cold bug you caught. I’m glad you got some sunny days to re-charge your batteries. I finally got my Christmas tree and lights up and put up extra strings of twinkle lights and that has really livened up the early dark evenings. Glad you got to talk with your mom.

I just saw a good review for that Vitamin Sea book so I hope you liked it, too.

Have a good week, Lola! Feel better!

I’ve been feeling pretty miserable the past few days, I hope I start feeling better sun. I also want to get our new fake Christmas tree up soon, some extra lights can help make things feel more likely.

I didn’t enjoy Vitamin Sea as much as I had hoped and won’t be continuing the series. It has some good parts, but it wasn’t quite for me.

Sadly it’s a pretty bad one I caught as I am still feeling miserable. I got another top 10 post done this week at least.

  3. Urg! I hope you soon get over the cold you’ve picked up – it’s always such a miserable time of year to go down with something, as you can’t sit outside and let the sunshine make you feel better. I had a lightbox for a couple of years as the darker days and longer nights can also affect my mood and energy levels – the results were mixed, but it’s worth trying. I know my mother had more success with hers. And I hope your mother feels better. Here’s hoping this week is a kinder one!

I am still feeling miserable, hopefully I feel better soon. And it’s been very gloomy here with little sunshine. I have a daylight lamp that helps a bit, but not as much as an actual sunny day.
