sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This week had it’s ups and downs. I went for a nice bike ride with my boyfriend and we cycled through some nature nearby, it was pretty and peaceful and we had a great time, even tough we were quite tired when we got back home. We had some things to deal with that didn’t go smoothly, so that was annoying, some company communication going wrong for a repair in our kitchen. And we had to do some research for a new part for our bed we want to replace. We managed to clean these air ducts we have in the kitchen and bathroom in our house and they were very gross, so glad we finally got that done.

There also was some bad news about my mom’s health, she’s still in the hospital and when I called her I found out the surgery to fix the complications from her cancer surgery had been a really tough one. Her husband had been the one to communicate with me and didn’t get that across, so that was stressful realizing my mom had been doing so badly and I hadn’t even known. And I had trouble getting hold of her by phone as she had some issue with her phone earlier that week. So we had to clear up that misunderstanding. She still has to stay in the hospital for a while and it seems the recovery from this will be rough.

With all that going on I didn’t spend any time on fixing my blog issues. And I only got a little bit of work done for the author I do assistant work for.

It really was quite the shock when I finally got hold of my mom and heard how bad things had been. She will probably recover okay, but it will be a long recovery likely. I am glad we got that bike ride early in the week as that was so nice.

  1. How upsetting that you hadn’t appreciated that your mother was doing badly – it’s always hard on everyone when someone is poorly as each family member copes differently. I hope she feels better soon. Glad you had a good bike ride but I hope the coming week is a better one, Lola.

I definitely notice that a lot with how everyone copes differently with stress and this whole situation and it can be hard to deal with. I am just glad I finally got hold of my mom and we could talk things through.

  2. I’m glad you had some peaceful time biking on the nature trail and the sense of accomplishment in getting the gross ductwork cleaned out. What a difficult time you’ve had learning of your mom’s complications and struggling to get past the phone troubles, too. Wishing her well.

Hope you have a better week, Lola!

I was good having that peaceful bike ride and some accomplishment this week as the rest was a stressful mess.
