sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was quite the week. On Monday my migraine was finally over and I had some energy, ofcourse I promptly overdid it and then by Wednesday I was back to being low energy. This is not the first time this happened and I wish I had managed to take it easy, but after feeling so bad for 4 days in a row I just wanted to make the most of that energy. We visited an estate nearby on Monday. It has this big piece of land around it with forest and lawns and a man-made hill. It was beautiful and nice to walk there, so that was great.

We’ve been working on some small house related things again this week. We finally got an answer about the leaking sink in the bathroom and seems that was part of the piece of furniture we took over from the previous owner and thus we have to repair that ourselves. A bit frustrated this took weeks before we finally heard it as else we could’ve resolved it already. Now we have to see if we can buy replacement parts and get that done.

We also got some bad news about my boyfriends financial situation, so that was stressful and we’re not quite sure how that will progress. We also are still experiencing some troubles with our previous general practitioner who still hasn’t sent our medical details to the new one. I am still have troubles with my website, but no energy to look into it. Making this post was a pain as one moment it worked and the next it didn’t. I am kinda hoping it’s temporary and resolves itself, but that’s probably wishful thinking.

On a more positive note we tried a local pizza place close by which had a discount so we got the second pizza for free and the pizzas were quite good and affordable even without the discount so we plan to return there.

There was some good news regarding my mom’s health. I called her this week and she’s doing better currently. She can walk around again and they’re trying to get her off the tube feeding she’s been on and back to regular food and that is going well so far. If that is successful she might even be able to go home before her next cancer treatment. She sounded much livelier than the last time I saw her and she remains positive and hopeful.

  1. Ha! I tend to take that approach to getting things done, too. First I’m low energy and then I’m go, go, go. How frustrating that they didn’t communicate to you about that sink part so you could have had it done and dusted a long time ago. Tough break with your boyfriend’s finances. I know you were hoping about that- now, I’m really glad you guys got the new place so that’s less stress on your finances. Yay, great news that your mom is feeling enough energy to come home between treatments. Nothing like being in your own home to get some needed rest.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • I really overdid it those days, but it was so nice to have some energy to get things done. I am really annoyed they didn’t let us know about the sink earlier so we could’ve been working on resolving that already. I am really happy we made the move and the lesser financial stress due to it. It’s been good hearing my mom doing so much better, she got back home this week and I think she felt so much better being home again.

I was going to mention again that I was having more trouble getting to your blog. I keep getting a message saying “Error establishing a database connection” even after I’ve started commenting without filling in all the blanks below and trying to connect to my blog automatically. I hope you are able to fix it. But if not, I’ll figure my way around it so I can read your blog! So frustrating for all the things going on for you. I am glad to hear your mom is making progress though!

    • The blog issues are so frustrating. I think it might be something on the hosting side of things as nothing on my blog has changed and every thing I’ve read about this error message doesn’t really sound like it’s relevant to my current situation. I am really sorry this makes it harder to access my blog. I hope I can find some time to look into this more as it’s so frustrating.

  3. It’s always annoying when issues graunch because folks are inefficient – I hope you can sort out the sink leak quickly – waste water seepage is always a nuisance. But what good news about your mother – she is clearly a gutsy lady who is fighting all the way. I hope the coming week is a good one, Lola.

    • It’s really been taxing with some of these things dragging on so long because of inefficient people getting in the way. I was so glad to hear my mom doing so much better this week.

    • It’s been good to hear that my mom is doing better and I hope it continues that way. I really hope I can resolve the blog issues as it’s very frustrating.
