sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

I struggled with very low energy levels this week. I just didn’t want to do anything, but sadly that wasn’t possible. So this week felt like one long struggle to still get some things done. I feel like I just totally crashed energy wise after all the stress of the past few months.

My boyfriend finished things up at the old house, but the inspection couldn’t take place this week, so we are waiting to hear back early next week to make sure everything is alright now. Fingers crossed everything is alright and we don’t have to pay anything.

We also got some more confusing/ bad news about my mom’s cancer. The doctors aren’t fully sure it is ovarian cancer after all and so there will be more test next week instead of her starting her treatment. She said she felt quite ill this week and doing even worse, so that had me worried. She got a lot worse in a short period of time.

My mom and her husband stopped by on Saturday to help with a few things. It was quite the tiring and stressful day. We got our new electric stove, so I’ll be testing that out soon, and we got doors on our kitchen cabinet now. The rest of the things my mom’s husband will do next week as my mom was doing very badly and it only got worse while they were here, but she insisted she still wanted to come and see us and help us. I think she wanted the distraction and to see us and our house again. Later that day I heard my mom is in the hospital as she couldn’t keep anything inside, whether water or food. Now we’re waiting to hear how she’s doing.

What did I read this week?

  1. So sorry to hear that your Mum’s visit wasn’t great due to her bad health and that she has suddenly taken a turn for the worse. At least if she’s in hospital, she’s in the right place and they’ll get to the bottom of the problem. And if you can take it easy, do so. You’ve been under a lot of strain for a long time due to the move. Hopefully you can begin to relax and take life at your own pace and enjoy your new location. Have a better week, Lola.

    • It really was tough to see my mom doing so badly. The hospital visit helped and she improved a lot as they could make sure she got hydrated again. I definitely hope we have some calmer weeks to relax soon as things have been stressful for a while now.

Keeping your mom in my prayers. I ended up taking my mom to the ER Friday night, so I understand a little about where you’re at right now now. I hope they can get something figured out so they can figure out a treatment to get her started on. I hope your inspection on the old place goes well so you can get moved on from worrying about all of that. Hoping for a better week for you!

    • Thank you! I am sorry to hear you had to bring your mom to the ER, I will visit your blog soon so I can get the whole story. I hope your mom’s okay!

The inspection at the old place went well, so that was nice to get resolved this week.

  3. I’m sorry your Mom is having so many issues. My daughter has issues but they aren’t life threatening mostly, they just make her feel badly. My Mom at 98 will outlive us all. I hope this week is less of a struggle for you because you will have enough with worrying. Wishing for good news about the old house.

    • That visit really brought home how sick she is and it has been tough to see her doing so badly. That does sound tough how your daughter has so many issues that make her feel badly, it’s never easy when someone you care about is not doing well. We got good news about the old house this week as the inspection went well.

  4. Your poor mom! Definitely wishing her well and hoping the doctors are able to figure it out and help her. And, yes, hopefully your old place will pass inspection so you can be done with it.

Looks like you read some good ones this week.

    • It really was sad to see how poorly she was doing and I hope the doctors can do something for her. Luckily we got the good news this week that the old house passed the inspection.

    • She got out of the hospital this week and is feeling a bit better luckily. They’re doing more tests this week so hopefully we know more about treatment soon.
