sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a pretty full week, but I had enough energy and got a lot done, so that was nice. We did some preparing for an important meeting we have next week so we have all the information available and in our heads.

We’re unfortunately still dealing with some mosquitos, we think they’re getting in through the ventilation grilles in our new windows. In the living room were we added mosquito netting to the ventilation grilles we didn’t find many new ones, but then they popped up in the bedroom, so now we applied netting there as well. And we added some to the kitchen window vents as well. I still can’t wrap my head around the fact someone made these ventilation grilles with openings large enough for mosquitos to go through, but that seems to be what’s happening. Hopefully now they no longer get inside.

I think I overdid it a bit applying the mosquito netting as the next day I had back pain that then turned into shoulder and neck pain and a headache as well.

I did a variety of work related tasks. The author I work for published new editions for one of her series and I worked on updating the covers, putting up review copies and some other tasks. Still plenty to do. I also made progress on the book I am prooflistening.

  1. I’m so sorry you are having so much trouble with mosquitos still. My arms are tired from the yard work I did and I need to get out soon and mow the other half of the lawn and do the edging. I already trimmed the whole yard.

    • I just can’t figure out how they’re getting in the house. Sorry to hear about your arms being tired from the yard work. Keeping up with a yard does sound like a lot of effort.

  2. I had to Google what a ventilation grille might be because we don’t have those by our windows here. We have window screens on the windows for ventilation. The mesh is so tiny no bugs can get through.

    • The ventilation grilles are quite handy as you don’t have to actually open the window and they have different settings for how much air they let through. The ones on our previous windows had very small holes in them, but these have these larger holes and some small insects and mosquitos can get just through them.

    • We’re still having a few mosquitos, so they’re still gettign in somehow. I agree the ventilation is crazy, why have holes big enough for small insects to get through?

  3. I would be gung-ho getting rid of all the ways a mosquito could get into my home, too. Hopefully, the sore muscles will be worth it because you won’t get those nasty bites. Will be thinking of you as you go to your meeting this week and hope it goes well. Yay for getting a work project done.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • I hope we finally can get rid of all the mosquitos, I can’t believe how much effort it has been so far to make sure they don’t get into our house. We’re still getting a few inside, so we have to try a few more things.
