The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
This week had a lot going. The mosquito problem continued, I had appointment for new glasses and my boyfriend got some bad news and he was waiting on an important phone call that didn’t happen, which got moved to next week. We also had a few really warm days, which weren’t fun.
And an update on our mosquito problem. We’re still killing a lot of them, but covering all the drains seemed to have helped. So we’re not sure how they are still getting inside. I also called the company that does repairs here and they said they would look into it, it might be related to a sewer issue. Last week we bought mosquito netting and since then we’ve been sleeping better as the netting keeps them away from us while sleeping, although we can still hear them through the netting sometimes. Either way I count this as a big improvement as being able to get some decent sleep makes such a big difference.
I had an appointment to get my new lenses for my glasses this week. As I wanted to keep my old frame, I had to bring my glasses there in the morning and could pick them up in the afternoon. It was quite the challenge being without glasses for half a day. I got nauseous and dizzy walking outside without my glasses. I have a prism correction and not having that was quite challenging. Luckily I could pick them up later again and it was so nice to have my glasses back. The new lenses are great and I see so much sharper. I think the old ones weren’t fully measured well as I never saw as sharp with them as I do now.
Besides that I’ve been doing some formatting work for one of my authors and ran into an annoying issue with the paperback pages not starting where they should. I am still working with the program’s support team to try and resolve that, it has been a pain as everything’s set correctly, but still doesn’t show up right in the exported pdf.
What did I read this week?
The Kelpie Crisis was a great read, I really like this series. The kelpie was so interesting to read about!
I had a lot of mixed thoughts on Something More. I wanted to love it, but it just ended up being a mixed one for me.
A Witch Worth Praline For was an engaging read and is the first half of the series finale.
And City Bird was a non-fiction book about birding in cities that I finished this week. It was an interesting read with some pretty artwork of birds. I enjoyed reading more about a variety of birds that live in cities.
This week I blogged about:
– Review: Escape With Me by Sophia Quinn
– Review: Winter Tales from Cozy Vales
– Review: Dating a Snow Goddess by Laura Greenwood
What to expect next week on the blog:
– Review: Honey and Pepper by A.J. Demas
– Review: The Cookie Crumbles by Tracy Badua and Alechia Do
– Review: Dungeons and Drama by Kristy Boyce
I feel so badly that you and your boyfriend have to deal with the mosquitos for so long now. Your formatting issue sounds like a real pain. Glad most of your reading has been great this week.
Hope this week is a good one for you, Lola!

It really is a pain having to deal with the mosquitos. I hope the formatting issue will be resolved quickly, the support team is still looking into it. At least my reading has been great :).
I’m glad to hear that your new glasses are better than the last ones. I’m glad you found some mosquito netting and it’s helping.

It’s really nice being able to see even sharper. And I am glad the mosquito netting is helping.
I’m glad you are making some progress with your glasses and having some great reads. All we can do is keep after the problems until we figure them out I guess.
