sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

We continued our cleaning out of the house this week, it’s quite tiring, but also feels good to make progress. I’ve been struggling a bit with not overdoing it and trying to strike the right balance. I’ve been replaying a game I played about 20 years ago and it’s so fun and nostalgic to replay it, I am having a lot of fun with it and that’s all I really want to do right now.

I’ve been doing some more re-reads as well this year, which has been nice. My reading is a bit all over the place with lots of ongoing books, so it takes a while to finish anything. I am just switching to whatever I am in the mood for.

The mosquito problem has lessened, but still not fully resolved. This week started with most days no mosquitos, but then we had one night were 3 different mosquitos kept us out of our sleep and I ended up with a few bites and had to take my anti-histamine pill again against the allergic reaction to the bites. And then two more nights were mosquitos kept us awake. I am tired.

I also did a bit of work, started and finished a task for one of my authors. And did a few smaller things for one of my other authors. I also checked in with my Lola’s Blog Tours email, checked my sign ups, sent emails and replied to emails.

What did I read this week?

A Wreck of WitchesDating a Snow Goddess

A Wreck of Witches was a re-read (or actually a re-listen) and I loved it just as much the second time around. I can’t recommend it enough.

Dating a Snow Goddess was a fun romance with the snowed in trope. not my favorite in the series as the romance developed a bit too quickly for my liking, but fun nonetheless.

And I DNF’d A Wizard’s Guide to Defensive Baking as the writing style wasn’t to my liking.

This week I blogged about:

Review: The Nameless Storm by Novae Caelum
Review: Recalling Memories for Forgetful Phoenixes by Laura Greenwood
Review: Otherworldly by F.T. Lukens

  1. We have few if no mosquitos this year. Too hot and dry? Then again, we stay in evenings because of the extreme heat recently in Ohio. Have a good week.

    • That is nice you don’t have mosquitos this year. Too bad about about the extreme heat though. We always stay in during the evenings, but the mosquitos seem to have found a way in anyway.

    • I thought the book sounded so fun, but the style just didn’t work for me. If you enjoyed other books by the author you hopefully will enjoy it.

    • I am really bad at it as well and the current clutter is the result of years and years of not decluttering, so it’s really necessary now. Hopefully we can keep it up and get the whole house done. I think trying to keep things you use and like it a good goal.

  2. I’m glad the clean out is going so well. Always feels good to have things fit better and look more organized. What a pain about those mosquitoes still being around particularly at night. We had a struggle with them about a month ago, but lately has been much better.
Re-reads/listens have been comfort reads for me lately though I really do need to get busy on the remainder of my June review books.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • It’s been nice cleaning out the house, but it sure is a lot of effort to get done. The mosquitos are so annoying, it’s getting better luckily, but when they bother us at night it’s really annoying. I also need to get back to review books, but it was nice to fit some re-reads/ re-listens in.

  3. The more I see all the stuff of my stepdad’s that my mom is going to have to go through and get rid of now that he’s passed away, the more I want to get rid of all my clutter. But when I start going through it I get sentimental. I have to get over that! I hope you have a good week, mosquitos are not fun, and if you have reactions to them too that’s even worse!

    • I also get sentimental, so many memories attached to things. I do keep a lot of those things that have sentimental value, but there’s also a lot of things like old bills, clothes that no longer fit and such that are easier to throw away. The mosquitos are a pain and even worse with my allergic reactions to the bites, at least the pills helps with those.
