sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

While the last two weeks went well with my having plenty of energy this week I was back to having lower energy levels. I think I overdid it the past two weeks, then last Sunday was stressful instead of relaxing and I just collapsed. I did have one high energy day on Tuesday and promptly overdid it again and was exhausted on Wednesday. Then the rest of the week I tried to take things easier and I am slowly doing a bit better again.

I received a newsletter from someone whose working with neurodivergent business owners and one of her tips was to take more rest than you think you need. I am going to try and remember that as it’s such good advice. I don’t feel like taking as much rest when I have enough energy, but this week was a good reminder I need it.

I’ve been listening to a lot more Youtube type podcast videos this week. An author whose books I like started a channel on there and I’ve been really enjoying her videos. I also found some new channels about neurodivergence as well as one I already knew that I’ve been listening to again.

Work wise I finished up this month’s work for the authors I do assistant work for. I figured out how to do something on the new website for one of my authors with the help of the website designer and it felt good to have that figured out. And a new review opportunity got booked that I did some work on as well, although it isn’t done yet.

What did I read this week?

Don't Want You Like a Best FriendIn the WeedsRecalling Memories For Forgetful Phoenixes

I had a lot of fun reading Don’t Want You Like a Best Friend, it was super sweet and fun. I really liked the characters and it was fun to see Beth and Gwen’s romance play out as well as their parents romance.
In the Weeds was unfortunately a DNF, too many issues that added up and I was just struggling with this one from the start. As I enjoyed book 1 I didn’t consider DNF’ing this one till way too late, but I am so glad I did set it aside.
Then I read Recalling Memories For Forgetful Phoenixes which was really good and fun. I liked the friends to lovers trope and the amnesia phoenix twist.
I also finished a non-fiction book The Dialogue Doctor Will See You Now which was very good. Definitely would recommend this to those who want to know more about writing dialogue.

This week I blogged about:

Review: The Broken Bridge by Iris March
Review: The Library Attic Attack by Iris March
Review: Betrayed by Lindsay Buroker

  1. Operating within your energy envelope with the hardest thing to achieve and I was very glad my son gifted me an oura ring to monitor my sleep and energy patterns to help recover from my long covid exhaustion. It’s taken a long time, but I am now definitely recovering. Getting enough good quality sleep is key. I hope the coming week is a better one, Lola:).

    • That oura ring sounds helpful to figuring out your energy patterns. It sure is a struggle to operate within your available energy. I am glad you’re doing a bit better now. And I agree good quality sleep is so important.

  2. Glad you are still finding things to help out with your energy as you continue to figure it all out. Taking more rest than you think you need is a neat idea! I like it! I’m sorry to hear you had to DNF the In the Weeds, I loved the first one in the series and am hoping to read that one for spring time. Hope you have a better week and the new ideas make a difference for you, a positive one!

    • I liked that tips of taking more rest than you think as I usually tend to overdo it. I really liked the first book too, but this one didn’t work for me, I already have book 3 and hope to enjoy that one more.

    • It definitely is a tricky balance, hopefully I can figure it out and can get a better handle on what I can do. I am glad with what I achieved this week.
