The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance toΒ  share news. A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share what is coming up on your blog for the week ahead.

This has been a crazy week, full with research, stress and worrying. Yeah switching seemed like a nice idea last week, but this week I really got into it all and there is so much to know and learn and I was so afraid of messing something up, but eventually it all turned out fairly easy.Β  And so here it is my first Sunday Post on my new blog!

I love wordpress so far and I have been trying out some cool plugins, I am so glad I made the move, even though it was a stressfull week. I might make a post about my switching experience later this week, but I am not sure yet.

I had some trouble finding a good theme for my blog and everyone I tried just didn’t feel right. Then my boyfriend bought the Tweak Me theme from Creative Whim for me and I love it! You can tweak everything and I was able to make my blog look exactly how I want it to. And see how all the links are dark green now? I know using blue is usually prefered, but dark green fits the rest of my design better and I hope it’s still obvious they are links.

If you have any trouble with comments, links or anything else just let me know. I think I made sure that everything would run alright, but you never know for sure until people are actually visiting your site. Also the redirection from my former blog isn’t working perfect yet, all posts get directed to the home page instead of the corresponding post on this blog. But basically if you want to find a post from my former blog on this one the new link is http://lolasreviews.com/(post-name)
Also the My Reviews page is pretty much useless now, because every link will lead back to the home page. I hope I’ll be able to fix it soon.

Also if you follow me on bloglovin, you are basically still following my old blog. I contacted bloglovin to change this, so it should be working soon.

Today I’ll be spending my day a theme park with my boyfriend and his parents. I am normally not a big fan of theme parks, but the theme park we’re going is really nice for a theme park, so I hope it will be fun. I probably won’t be responding to comments and commenting back till later today or tomorrow. I hope you all have a fun sunday! And please let me know what you think of my new blog, I would love to hear your opinions!

    • Actually I think starting your blog on wordpress is the best thing to do. It might be difficult to figure everything out at once, but it seems so much easier than switching later on. So far I didn’t have any problems using wordpress and I love it. There are so many more options than blogger and I wished I made this move earlier.

    • Yay glad to hear it’s working already. I am only now seeing I got a reply back from bloglovin that they moved my followers, that’s fast! Glad that’s solved too πŸ™‚

And thanks for letting me know you haven’t encountered any problems yet. I am glad to hear everythign seems to be working fine so far!

I am only now realizing that all my reply comments go in blue, it get’s quite colourfull, wondering whether to change it or not.

  1. Congrats on moving to WP, and for getting the TweakMe theme πŸ™‚ It looks awesome, and I think it’s a great idea to have your links in dark green. I do the same on my blog, I have the links in darker purple, so it is the same as my color scheme.

I hope things will be less stressful this week, Lola, and that you’ll continue to love WP πŸ™‚ I was so happy when I made the move.

Astral Tide looks really interesting, I look forward to seeing what you think about it.

    • Thanks lexxie :). I am loving the Tweak Me theme, it’s everything I was looking for and I love how I can change everything. Glad to hear the dark green links aren’t annoying! And I love wordpress so far, I never had any issues with blogger, but I just prefer wordpress and all the options and the plugins!

I hope this will be a calmer week too as last week was crazy, but now I made the move, I hope things will calm down. Although ofcourse in a week or two I’ll also have to move Lola’s Blog Tours, but I hope that one will go more smoothly as I already know more now.

    • Thanks :). Concerning the links matching the theme, glad to hear you think so too! I think the links will stay dark green then as it seems most people so far don’t mind it. I hope you have a great week!

  2. I’ve always been on blogger, but I do struggle sometimes with the ‘technical’ side of things – the way the posts come out all strange even though when I write it, it looks ok … don’t have the patience of computer stuff like that. But your blog looks nice now and I do like the minty green colour, very pleasing on the eye. Hope you enjoyed your trip to the theme park, I don’t like theme parks either and I’m usually the one holding everyone’s bag and sitting on a bench / in a coffee shop while the rest enjoys the rides etc.

    • Peggy, I would recommend making your post in a text editing system like Notepadd++ if you have a bit of html knowledeg. Because copy and pasting can mess up the html code and makes your formatting in posts seem off. For example when I get a worddoc media kit I always copy and paste in notepadd first and then copy it from there on to my blog. You will have to add all the formatting yourself, but at least you can make it show how you want to, usually. In wordpress I am mostly working in the html side now as it’s much clearer and easier than the blogger html side.

Glas to hear you like the colour, it was difficult to find the exact right shade, but I am glad with how it turned out.

Concerning the theme park, yeah I actually was the one sitting on a becnh with the bags this time too. And it was frigging cold, it was fun, but also really cold and tiresome. I did went on 3 rides, 3 not scary ones ofcourse, as I hate everything that goes fast/high/in the dark etc.
