sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

So in last Sunday Post I mentioned how I did not have any side effects from my latest covid vaccination and promptly realized that wasn’t true as I had been feeling super tired for days and needing more sleep and realized that was because of the vaccine. This week started off a bit slow because of that and then I had to catch up a bit on work after that. Luckily I am back to normal now.

Work wise I put a new book blitz live for a historical fiction book. I am working on my next tour and two upcoming review opportunities as well. I did get some sad news as one of the authors I do assistant work for doesn’t need my help anymore. I was sad to hear that as I enjoyed working with this author and this means I lose a chunk of income too. Hopefully I can compensate for that loss of income with some extra tour work or maybe find a new author to do assistant work for. I am also hoping to finally get my formatting service live so I can see how that goes.

What did I read this week?

The Space Beyond by Melissa PearlHer Festive Dragon Mate by Arizona TapeWitch's Lesson by Laura Greenwood and Arizona Tape

I wanted to try something new and list the books I read this week and one or more things I liked about them regardless of the rating I gave it. Not sure if I’ll keep this in, but I though I would give it a try.

Foxhunt by Rem Wigmore
What I liked about it: the world building and descriptions of greenery

10 Steps to Hero by Sacha Black
What I liked about it: lots of good tips about writing heroes/ main characters

The Space Beyond by Melissa Pearl
What I liked about it: great epilogue and wraps up the story even better

Her Festive Dragon Mate by Arizona Tape
What I liked about it: the romance and Christmas vibe

    • I am pretty sure it was the Covid vaccine due to the timing right afterwards. Luckily we’ve been having some less gloomy days here, it seems spring is on it’s way :).

  1. Glad the side effects were mild and you were able to still get your work done. Hopefully the formatting will bring in some good steady work for you. Like your added bit about one thing you enjoyed about the book. I’m impressed you could keep it to a sentence b/c that’s a hard one for me.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • I hope the formatting will bring in some extra work. I am glad you liked the one thing I enjoyed about eahc book, it’s fun to focus on the positive, but a bit tricky to come up with things for books I didn’t enjoy as much. I wanted to keep it simple and just list the things I liked without much detail so I could keep it to one sentence.

    • Thanks! I hope I can find some new work to replace it. I am glad my reaction to the vaccine wasn’t too bad, although the tiredness was a bit annoying.
