sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a pretty decent week. I had a few off moments this week, but also got a lot done. I struggled a bit with feeling relaxed, but it helped that my boyfriend didn’t have to work this week. I did some preparation for the shower stall renovation next week and have been worrying about that bit. I am not looking forward to the renovation, but I look forward to having a new shower. I tried a new recipe and baked a vegan pound cake, it turned out pretty well. But I substituted coconut oil for olive oil and made a miscalculation I think as the outside was a bit too oily. Luckily the flavor was still great.

Work wise it was a solid week. I put the sign up post live for an upcoming cover reveal and finished up the assistant work for this month for one of my authors already. I did the usual work for tours running this week and the replying to emails. I got some new work in as well this week, a new audiobook to prooflisten as well as materials for a blog tour that I am working on next.

What did I read this week?

Golden MageOne Simple WishOld Bones and Ice Cream Cones

Reading wise I struggled a bit. Old Bones and Ice Cream Cones is the sixth book in a series I enjoy, but this book wasn’t as good as some of the others for me and I was bothered by the way the main character had to wait for things to resolve itself instead of being able to do something active. I set it aside for a bit and read Golden Mage and One Simple Wish before returning to Old Bones and Ice Cream Cones to finish it.
I really enjoyed Golden Mage as I was in the mood for the fast paced plot line this series has.
One Simple Wish was just an okay read. I liked the theme of a workaholic realizing there’s more life and returning to her hometown island. Unfortunately the romance didn’t quite work for, I thought the reason they broke up felt unrealistic and I had trouble feeling the romance.

This week I blogged about:

Review: Battle Bond by Lindsay Buroker
Review: Omega Sanctuary by Mira Kane

  1. Glad the work continues to be steady and you had a pretty good week especially with your boyfriend getting a week off. I would feel nervous that the shower renovation went well, too. It will be so nice to have a new one afterward. I was glad your Old Bones one turned out better after the break. I want to read this new Jessie Mihalik series after I get to her older ones.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • I am glad the shower renovation is done now and it’s great to have a new one. I am glad Old Bones was still a decent read, even if I didn’t enjoy it as much as some of the other books in the series. I am really enjoying this newest series by Jessie Mihalik, but all of her series are great so far :). I hope you’ll enjoy Polaris Rising!
