sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This week was a pretty standard week again luckily, although there were some things not going as smoothly. It’s been a great week for work and I am so glad more work is coming in again, after some slower weeks it’s really a nice change of pace.

Friday afternoon and evening we had an internet outage, which is the worst. It meant I couldn’t do any work or do anything else like blogging for which I needed the internet or even play the current game I am playing. I did what work I could do offline and wrote a draft for my Sunday Post. Luckily it only lasted a few hours and by the time I did what work I could and we had dinner it was back online shortly after. It sure made me realize for how much we need the internet.

Work wise it’s been a really good week. I am working on multiple new sign up posts for tours and also agreed to do some work on a website for an author next month. I put the sign up post live for a new non-fiction bookstagram blitz as well as new YA fantasy review opportunity. And I did the usual email replies and handling sign ups for open tours. I also wrapped up April’s work for my assistant work authors. All in all it was a good work week.

Food Corner

I made apple pie this week. I don’t make pies often, so it was a real treat to have apple pie. The apple pie turned out really well and I enjoyed baking it.

I also made roti for the first time and it turned out great. I forgot to take a picture of it unfortunately.

What did I read this week?

The Pocket Guide to Pigeon WatchingHanged by a Thread

A Pocket Guide to Pigeon Watching was awesome! I really enjoyed it and learned a lot about pigeons, it was fun to learn about a topic I didn’t know much about and I liked how the book was written in an easy to follow way. Hanged by a Thread was another solid read in this cozy mystery series. I really like this series and it’s quickly turning into one of my favorites. The mystery was engaging and I liked spending time with these characters.

This week I blogged about:

Review: Murder on Cape Cod by Maddie Day

  1. Glad you had a pretty good week. Oh yeah, having the internet down really drives home how much I depend on it. We had it down for a few hours last Friday when our modem had to be replaced for a newer one and the new one didn’t work at first. I’m glad you had lots of work this week. Your apple pie looks delicious and glad your roti was a success. I think your pigeon book would be interesting. I read a historical mystery recently featuring them.

    Have a great week, Lola!

    • It’s really annoying having internet issues as we depend on it so much. Sorry to hear you had some internet troubles too. The Pigeon book was awesome! What is the title of that historical mystery you read with pigeons?

  2. Your apple pie looks so good! I love apple pie but I mostly make apple crisp (baked apples with a streusel topping) because that’s what Ken used to ask me to make for him. lol
I hate it when the internet goes out too.

    • That does sound tricky to find a gluten free one. I’ve only seen a few of those here. Hopefully you can adapt you recipe from your chicken pot pie. And crumble topping would work great on this as well.

Yeah I was quite distressed and at a loss for what to do while the internet was down.

    • Thanks! I hope the work will remain steady for a while.

It’s such a pain when you don’t have internet. I can’t imagine being without internet for a couple of days.

    • I really hate being without internet and it does make it obvious how much we rely on it. The apple pie was so good!
