The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
What happened this week?
What a week! This week did not go smoothly at all. Monday I woke up in a weird mood and felt like I didn’t achieve anything at all even tough I got things done and from there onward the week only got worse. I had two doctor appointments this week as well as a dentist visit. On top of that I’ve not been sleeping well and worrying about about the appointments.
I had hoped I could avoid going to the doctor in the middle of a pandemic, but I had this weird spot on my skin that was changing and itching and I was worried it might be something bad. Luckily it turned out to be innocent. I had to go for another visit where they removed it. I am glad that’s now been resolved. Unfortunately the dentist visit didn’t go as well as I have a cavity, so I need to return next month to get that fixed.
Between all of that going I tried to do as much work as I could. Luckily I somehow got the most important things done, but it sure was a stressful week. I baked some cookies this week and it was nice to have some yummy cookies. Work wise I got some hours of assistant work done, I had a tour start that I organized and I am working on a new sign up post for an upcoming tour.
The weather has been all over the place too this week. We had snow, hail, rain and wind this week as well as a bit of sun now and then. I really could go for some warmer days, but at least the world is looking greener every day, which is great.
What did I read this week?
I somehow managed to finish three books this week. The Engineer was a great short read, fast paced and with a fun combination of genres and a great start of a romance. Bobbins and Bodies was a solid second installment in this cozy mystery series and I really like the author’s writing style and reading about the daily life of the main character. Black Queen Sovereign was another awesome book in that series, I really like seeing how things play out and there is some great character as well as plot development going on.
This week I blogged about:
– Review: Let’s Go Out by Kelly Jensen
– Review: Saving Her Human by Tori Knightwood
What to expect next week on the blog:
– Review: One Poison Pie by Lynn Cahoon
– Lola’s Kitchen: Chicken with Parsley and Mushrooms Recipe

Sorry that this week has been a bit of a mare and I hope the coming one is more peaceful and productive:)). Though those cookies sound delicious! The very changeable weather doesn’t help – we have had plenty of sunshine, but there has been a bitter wind to go with it.
Thanks! The cookies were delicious. I hope the weather turns a bit warmer soon, we finally have a day with some sunshine and not too much wind.
Those medical and dental appointments all in the same week will unsettle one, for sure. Glad the spot was not dangerous and wishing you well when they deal with the cavity. Glad you had a good reading week and were able to get some work done. Spring weather can be all over the place.
Hopefully your new week will be better.

It really wasn’t a fun combination to have all those appointments in the same week. I am glad the spot wasn’t dangerous. At least it was a good reading week and a decent one for work.
I don’t mind the medical but I still haven’t done the dental and I really need to since I do have one tooth that might need to come out. We tried saving it but I don’t think it worked but I feel like that is just too close to be near someone. I really do need to take the kids to the dentist, they are long over due.
I hope you have a great week, Lola! Happy Reading! xx

I hate going to the dentist, but I know it’s important to go. I hope you and the kids can go to the dentist soon. Sorry to hear about your tooth that might need to come out.
I hope this week is much better. I too have postponed all my appts as much as possible. Now that we are vaccinated I scheduled some dentist / doctor etc but with my leg pain some of them I still don’t feel I can do I have wanted to bake cookies for 3 weeks but haven’t felt able to stand long enough to do it. I can say our weather here has been great and I’m enjoying it.

I didn’t dare risk postponing these appointments and I am glad they’re done now. I am happy to hear you’re vaccinated and I am sorry to hear about your leg pain. That’s annoying when you can’t do everything you want yet.
Doctor appointments always make me nervous too. I hope next week is a better one for you.

Thanks!
Ugh, I just had a bad dentist visit last month, so I know that is not fun! Hope your cavity filling or whatever they have to do goes okay. This was a lousy week for me, just long and lots of little things went wrong. Hopefully we all have a good week this coming week.

Thanks! I am really glad the spot was innocent as I was quite worried about it.
Yummy cookies make everything better! I’m glad your doctor visit turned out okay in the end, but it’s a bummer about the cavity.

The cookies definitely made things better. I am glad the doctor visit turned out okay, but I am not happy I have to go back to the dentist.
