sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was a bit of a mixed week, it started of really good and then went downhill after that. Last week I mentioned I really felt like finding new things to read or game or recipes to try out, I feel that my attempts to look up new things were successful. This week I have felt better in that regard and have less that urge to find new things. I also tried out two new recipes which helped. I still feel like I am in a bit of a slump, but maybe it’s getting a bit better. And I am still feeling low on energy sadly. We had a few days with some sun this week which helped a bit, although it’s still cold.

Sorry if I am not as active with blog visiting, but everything just seems to take a lot of effort lately. I hope in a few weeks I am back to normal again.

This week started very solidly with a few great work days. I was very productive and got a lot of things done. Then I overdid things somehow and ended up with a massive headache and shoulder pain for days, which ruined most of the rest of the week and my productivity. As I am writing this on Saturday afternoon my headache and shoulder pain are still there.

We had elections here in the Netherlands this week, so I went out to vote. It was handled well with everyone wearing masks and things set up so you could keep enough distance. I also was lucky to go on a time when it wasn’t busy, so there hardly any wait time.

I put live a new blog post for authors, this time I explained what a blog tour is and some blog tour related terms. I am really excited about this new feature on my Lola’s Blog Tours site and I look forward to publishing more posts. I wrote another blog posts as well this week.

Food Corner

I made a few new things this week. I made some new cookies, these are maple pecan cookies with white chocolate. They turned out awesome. They are chewy with a nice maple syrup flavor and the pecan and white chocolate really work here too.

I also made a new salad for my boyfriend. There was chicken in here so I didn’t try it, but I might make it without chicken once as well. It’s a pasta salad with pesto dressing.

What did I read this week?

Magic TodayMurder On Cape CodBlack Queen Shadow

I had two great reads this week and one less good one. Magic Today unfortunately didn’t work for me. Murder on Cape Cod was the first book in a new series by an author I already know and I really enjoyed this one. Black Queen Shadow is the second book in this series about shifters and it’s really good. I liked all the character and relationship development in this one.

This week I blogged about:

  1. Bummer about feeling down with low energy and getting the headache and pain, but glad you got some work done and were able to get out and vote. The cookies sound fab and I love pasta salad so I’d definitely try yours. Nice big book haul and glad you’re starting to find it easier getting back into reading.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • I hope I feel better soon. I am glad I still got some work done even with feeling down and low energy and the pain. The cookies were great and I’ll definitely be making them again as well as the pasta salad.

  2. I would love those cookies! I make something similar to the pasta with feta cheese instead of chicken and use a bunch of different veggies depending what is in season. I’m sorry you had the pain at the end of the week. Pain makes it hard to have energy, so I hope this week is much better for you.

  3. The salad looks delicious! I love pesto. And those cookies sound yummy. I always get inspired to make some of my own whenever I see tempting foodie pics like these!

I hope you enjoy Joanna Penn’s books. They are really great.

    • I’ve read a few of Joanna Penn’s books already and enjoyed them so far. She was running a sale on her direct store, so I decided to grab two books I hadn’t read yet.

    • The cookies were great and I am sure I’ll be making the pasta salad more often too. I hope we get some better weather soon, we had a few sunny days already.
