sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This was quite the busy week, with some good news and a few issues that are still going on, but overall a pretty decent one. I got lots of work done this week, some new work and worked a bit more on figuring out my computer issues. And I had an awesome 5 star read this week too.

I have some great news! Not only did another author let me know she would like to work with me more in the future, one of the authors I previously worked with needed me for some more work again and a bunch of tours got booked this week. So that’s two new authors for assistant work, although I am not sure for how much hours of work yet, as well as some new tours. I am so happy and excited to start working on all of this.

I put two sign-up posts for blog tours live this week, one for a historical time travel romance book and a tour for a science fiction romance series. And I am working on another 4 tours that I hope to have live next week. My work always has it’s up and downs and this up couldn’t come at a better time, the next few months are suddenly looking a lot better. And I couldn’t be happier about that and thankful for all the authors who booked a tour. I love organizing blog tours and having a bunch of them to work on at once just reminds me of how much I love this work. And I can’t wait to show you all the pretty tour banners for my new tours!

I am still struggling with my computer issues, I am now in the process of updating my drivers one by one, to see if that helps. I’ve done a few so far, but I don’t think it’s solved yet. I really hope I can get this resolved soon as it’s pain having to restart my computer every half hour to an hour as it suddenly starts slowing down. And it’s making me a bit antsy to keep an eye on when it’s slowing down. My new mouse still hasn’t arrived, so I plan to contact the seller to see what’s happened with that. I haven’t had any arm pain this week, so maybe the new mouse mat fixed it, but I still want to try the new mouse as well.

We had to go to the dentist this week. Luckily we didn’t have any caries. I still hate going and am always nervous when I have to go to the dentist, but I am happy that turned out well and we bought some pie on the way back to celebrate a successful dentist visit. We got totally rained under on the way back home. This was the first time I’ve been outside further than to the grocery store or a short walk since Corona started and it was a bit weird to go out and for such a long time. We wore out masks as we had to go with public transport, but there were quite some people who didn’t even in public transport where it’s obligatory. The dentist had plenty of safety measures in place to ensure a safe visit, so that was nice.

What did I read this week?

Point of ViewThe Mage-Lord's Legacy

Point of View was a good read and I liked learning more about point of view as that’s not something I know a lot about. The Mage-Lord’s Legacy was awesome and got a rare 5 star rating. The action scenes were so well written and easy to visualize. There were plenty of twists and turns. I love the characters and how they al have their own personality and it was great seeing the romance develop in this book.

This week I blogged about:

Review: Silver Bound by Jody Wallace
Lola’s Kitchen: Babka with Chocolate Filling recipe
Review: The Mage-Lord’s Legacy by Kay MacLeod

I also got Galactic Search and Rescue by Carol Van Natta, which will be part of this years Pets in Space 5 anthology. As well as an audio copy of Deadly Dog Days through Tantor Audio. Flash of Fear I bought as it was only 99 cents and sounded good. The Amethyst Panda and Damned Souls a Sangria I got all for review. All of them have releases dates next months, so my reviews should be ready by then hopefully.

What’s something good that happened to you this week?

  1. These are all great news with authors wanting to work with you! And I’ll go to the dentist Wednesday too! Finally! I can’t wait as I’ve never been so long without visiting him!

    • I hope your dentist visit went well. We actually went right before the first wave started and then now again, so that went well timing wise.

    • Thanks! I am happy with the new work. I was a bit worried too going to the dentist, but luckily the dentist took safety very serious and had lots of safety procedures in place.

  2. That is sensational news about the increased workload. Glad your hand is doing better and hopefully that other mouse will show up soon. Yay for a cavity-free dental visit. I treat myself afterward, too. 🙂
I’ve got Pets in Space on pre-order and Carol’s latest is one of my most-anticipated in the set.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • I am really glad about the new work and I hope this will continue. I am always happy when I don’t have cavities, so it’s worth celebrating ;).

I am really looking forward to Pets in Space 5 and plan to buy a copy on release day. I am currently reading Carol Van Natta’s story and it’s greta so far.

  3. Congrats on the author work! And the 5 star as well. that’s always a good feeling when that happens…

Good luck with your PC issues. Having to restart like that would be maddening! I hope it all works out soon. And going to the dentist – same. Not my favorite thing to do at all. I had to have a wisdom tooth out recently and not fun.

    Take care!

    • I was so happy with the 5 star read, it’s been a while since I had one. And I hope the new author work continues.

It really is a pain to have to restart it so often. Sorry to hear about your wisdom tooth. I hope your recovery is going well.

  4. Ooooh, a rare 5-star read! So glad you enjoyed it! I really need to see my dentist but I’m not sure if they’re doing cleanings again yet. I need to call them but I keep forgetting. I’ll do that now. Thanks for the reminder! And I’m glad we’ll be working on a tour again together. It’s going to be fun!
