sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

This week started of pretty good and then turned more tiring as it progressed. This was one of those weeks with lots of little things that needed to be done, which costs a lot of time, but doesn’t feel as productive. The weather turned warmer again later in the week and combined with a few nights of not so good sleep that made me quite tired toward the end of the week.

My boyfriend’s parents came by for a little while to drop some things off and we had a visit outside of our house so we could mostly keep the proper distance.

I’ve got some hours of assistant work done as usual. And some Lola’s Blog Tours work. It’s been a bit quiet at Lola’s Blog Tours, so I try and get some more assistant work done, so hopefully I can focus more on Lola’s Blog Tours if work picks up. I am always a bit worried when I have a slower few weeks at Lola’s Blog Tours, I know the ups and downs are normal, but I still can’t help but worry a bit. Luckily I got a last minute book blitz request in later this week, so I could do some work on that one. The sign-up post for that book blitz is now live.

I also tried out a new recipe for breaded pork chops with parsley for my boyfriend that turned out quite well. It was a bit of a strange recipe and not something I usually make, so I am glad it turned out well.

I am running a discount on my bookstagram blitzes until the end of the month. I’ve changed a few things in how I organize them and to celebrate their return I thought discount would be a good idea. I look forward to organizing these again.

What did I read this week?

Master of GhoulsVangie Vale and the Murdered MacaronTrial of the Red RuneThe Carnelian Fox

Master of Ghouls was another good read in this series. This book has it’s own mystery and the characters and romance develops a bit. Vangie Vale and the Murdered Macaron was an awesome cozy mystery read. The mysterious was so well done with plenty of twists and reveals. There was a constant sense of progression, but the full picture wasn’t revealed until the end. The characters with multi faceted and realistic and I really liked reading this one. Trial of the Red Rune was a short fantasy novella. I enjoyed this one, but it was a bit too short to really get a sense of the characters and world. The Carnelian Fox was a re-read, but this time I listened to the audio version, which was great. I liked the narrator for this book and how she did the different voices.

This week I blogged about:

Review: My Change of Heart by Melody Sweet
Review: Murder at the Marina by Janet Finsilver

  1. Sorry you had a rough end of the week.
Is there anything else I can help you with when it comes to your tours. I would be happy to share stuff if you need it shared or maybe some graphic we can come up with for the tours?

Unless I make pork chops in a pan, they always come out so dry. I also prefer it with a bone for some reason that makes it dry out less.

You got lots of awesome looking books, I hope you enjoy them!

Have a great week, Lola! Happy Reading! xx

    • Thanks for stopping by and offering your help! I appreciate your support!

If you could share anything about my bookstagram blitz discount I have currently going on that would be awesome. I hope the discount will bring some extra clients to my business again.

I would be happy to hear your ideas re a graphic for the tours? Not quite sure what you meant.

My boyfriend doesn’t mind dry meat, so that makes it a lot easier to make as I don’t have to worry about it being too dry.

It really was an awesome haul of books this week. I look forward to reading them :).

  2. We’ve had some cooler temps, but it is supposed to start heating up the day after tomorrow. I find it tough to sleep in hot weather and concentrate on my work during the day. Glad you got a book blitz to take some of the stress away about your business being slower. Neat that you got a family visit and also a success for your pork chop dinner.
Nice reading week and what a great haul of books. I enjoy the Innkeeper Chronicles so I hope you like them, too.

    Have a good week, Lola!

    • Here it’s been a warm week again, but luckily we still got some rain now and then. Warm weather really can make it hard to sleep and concentrate on work.

It was nice to get a book blitz in this week, now let’s hope I get a few more soon :).

I hope I’ll enjoy the Innkeeper books. I heard so many good things about it.

  3. I know all about these weeks where you do lots of pesky things but don’t feel you accomplished anything! I hope next week will feel more productive for you Lola!

  4. Glad you were able to have a family gathering. I like breaded pork chops. But I like the bigger ones because they don’t seem to dry out in the oven as easily. I also like pork steaks too because they have a better taste to them.

    • I don’t really know much about meat as I don’t eat it myself, but luckily my boyfriend doesn’t mind dry meat, so that helps.

  5. Ooo… you are in for a real treat – the Innkeeper Chronicles are a joy – one of my all-time favourite series, ever… I look forward to hearing how you get on with them. Sorry that you have been feeling a bit tired and drained – I hope the coming week is a kind one, Lola:)

    • Thanks! I hope that is indeed the case and that things will pick up soon. I hope I’ll enjoy the InnKeeper Chronicles, I’ve heard so many great things about it.
