sunday post

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It’s a chance to share News. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

What happened this week?

I was feeling a lot better since last Sunday already and quickly recovered from the flu I had caught last week. Sadly this week I was back to feeling tired and a bit off at times. It was just one of those week were nothing seemed to go smoothly. Like when I was going to make dinner one evening and was already a bit late. Only to realize one important ingredient that I knew I still had was expired and I had to rush to the grocery store to get a replacement. It also was one of those weeks were it wasn’t too warm, but still warm enough and so humid that it felt even warmer. I am still battling the mildew, progress is slow but steady.

Luckily it was a great week for work. My review opportunity discount was a big success, multiple new review opportunities have been booked during the discount and some new tours got booked as well. I put a new sign-up post live this week for a non-fiction book. I am working on another review opportunity and blog tour sign-up post that should be live next week. And besides that I had a blog tour I organized start this week. I also did a good amount of assistant hours and finished up the work for July and started on August work.

Now July is over, let’s take a look at what I read last month. I read 12 book in July. 6 of those were novella length, so that partly explained why I read that much. My favorite read was the last book I finished in July: Broken Flyght by S.J. Pajonas. That was the one book that got a 5 star in July, besides that I had one DNF, two 3 stars and 8 books that got a 4 stars rating. Science Fiction was my most read genre this month with 6 books falling in that genre. And four books were young adult books, which is quite a lot for me, the other 8 were adult books. Only 4 books were ones I got for review, 2 were free, one I won, one I got through my subscription program and 4 I bought. I listened to one audiobook this month: Cat Got Your Diamonds. The other books were all ebooks.

What did I read this week?

Broken FlyghtDine With Me

Broken Flyght was awesome! I loved this sequel and gave it one of my rare 5 star ratings. Book 1 releases early September and I am looking forward to tell you all about this amazing new series by S.J. Pajonas. Dine With me was a great read, the first book I read by this author and I definitely plan to read more books by this author. It’s a bit of a difficult read at times with the cancer topic, but at the same time not as depressing as I feared. And I loved all the food stuff.

This week I blogged about:

Review: Spellbound by Allie Therin
Review: Quill Me Now by Jordan Castillo Price

What to expect next week on the blog:

– Review: Mindfulness and Meditation by Whitney Stewart
– Review: White Water by Jordan Ford

    • I felt a lot better this week luckily. I hate when I feel so tried and groggy as it’s hard to get things done. I do agree novella’s count, although with their shorter length it is easier to get more books read.

    • Luckily this week I felt less groggy. I agree that short stories count too, but they do seem to inflate the number of books read a bit when you read a lot of them.

  1. I was also feeling a little bit out of sort last week as I got a cold with the AC running full blast in the Eurostar due to the heat wave! I swear these days can drain all our energy. I hope next week will be way better for you Lola!

    • Sorry to hear you also had one of those weeks with lots of frustrations. Those little frustrations really add up. This week was a bit better luckily 🙂

  2. Ugh. I’m sorry to hear you had so many tiny frustrations this past week! Very annoying for you. 🙁 I’m so glad you loved BROKEN FLYGHT! And that it got one of your coveted 5-star ratings. I’m looking forward to giving you more books in the series.

    • I dislike weeks like that with lots of small frustrations.

I can’t wait for the rest of the books in the series :). I am really enjoying the Flyght series so far. And I’ve had some trouble getting into a new book as nothing seems quite what I want to read.
