My Review

After reading the first book in this series I immediately bought the next 2 books and it wasn’t long before I started book 2. Something about this series really captured my attention. I like the quirky main character Amy, her relationship with detective Ambrose and the slow burn romance and then the mysteries. This book was just as good as book 1, maybe even better and I really enjoyed reading it.

This book had a truly creepy mystery with a disturbing killer who stitches corpses together. I usually steer away from the darker mysteries, but luckily this book didn’t go too deep into the details and allowed me to still be able to read it. The actual mystery with figuring out who was the killer was great. I really liked seeing how the mystery progressed and which clues brought them closer. I actually did manage to guess who the killer was before the characters pieces it together. I also liked how some time has passed between books 1 and 2 and Amy is more used to her role as consultant and Ambrose asks for her help even with cases not related to wands.

I really like Amy, she’s just so fun to read about. I like her outlook on things and the way she talks. She’s so quirky and fun to read about and she makes the whole book fun to read. And I especially like her interactions with Ambrose. They have this really nice slow burn romance and I really enjoy seeing them interact and the way they slowly grow closer. I cna’t wait to read more about them. We also get to meet Ambrose’s dog in this book as well as some other side characters that Amy befriends.

To summarize: I really enjoyed this book. Amy is such a great main character and I really like reading about her, she’s quirky and fun. This book has quite the disturbing mystery, but luckily there weren’t too many graphic details. I enjoyed seeing how Amy and Ambrose solve this mystery and the way the investigation progresses throughout the book. There also is a lovely slow burn romance between Amy and Ambrose and I really enjoy reading about them. I already have the next book and hope to read that soon!
