The Peryton Fawn is book 9 in the modern fantasy Griffin Sanctuary series. It is packed full of adventure, mythical creatures, and a sapphic romantic sub-plot.If you enjoy mythical creatures, zoo documentaries, slow burn sapphic romantic sub-plots, and a heroine who loves animals, you’re going to love The Unicorn Herd.
My Review
I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
I really like this series and was so excited to read this newest book in the series. The Peryton Fawn follows Charlotte as she has to help out in the pegasus and peryton enclosure a lot. There are pregnant perytons as well as some other health issues she is asked to help out with, but the main focus is on a certain peryton fawn that she helps with and the journey to get the fawn settled within the herd.
This is such a great series. I really like how the author writes about these mythical animals and how real they feel. I liked learning about the perytons and pegasi in this book and how they lived in a big enclosure and actually aren’t good with a lot of human interaction and thus are handled differently than some of the other animals. The whole plotline with the peryton fawn kept my attention and I was so hopeful it would all turn out well. I read this one in just a few sittings as I just wanted to keep reading and see what would happen next. The ending was great, but then there’s a big twist that felt like the lead up for the next book, but I just wanted to bask a bit more in the conclusion of this one.
I like reading about Charlotte and how she handles it all. Her passion for her job and dedication for the animals she works with is admirable. She does have a tendency to sometimes care less for herself and overwork though, which can be hard to read about. I liked the sweet scenes with her girlfriend Felicity and they are looking for a new place in this book so they can move in together, but there are some obstacles in their way. The focus in this book was mostly on the animal plot lines, but the romance scenes that were there were sweet ones.
To summarize: I had a great time reading this book. This is such a great series and I like how the author makes these mythical animals all feel real. I liked learning more about the pegasi and the perytons in this book and the plot line had me engaged and eager to see how it all gets resolved. I like reading about Charlotte and how she deals with everything. The focus is on the animal plot lines, but there are some sweet romance scenes involving Charlotte and her girlfriend Felicity and how they’re looking for a new place to move in together. I look forward to the next book!

I hadn’t heard of a peryton before, I had to look it up. Books with mythical animals can be so fun! And I feel like it’s a good sign when you finish a book and want to bask in the ending for a bit.
I only heard of peryton’s a few years ago, so it was fun to see a book that had them. I really like how the author brings the mythical animals to live.
Mythical animals can be fun. This sounds good.
