My Review:
I think this is the best book in the Bloodlines series so far. From the beginning it captured my attention and I just wanted to keep reading. There is so much going on and I really enjoyed this book.

Beside furthering the main storyline there is also a book specific storyline going on in this book, just like in the two earlier books. Sydenys life is getting quite busy again and there is so much going on and only at the end it all makes sense. I really liked the story, although the book specific storyline was coming a bit out of the blue, involding a character we didn’t hear much about before this book.

Sydeny really grows in this book, she also grew in the first two book, but in this book she grows so much more. I really like Sydney, I know she is no Rose, but I like her and I think she is a great character. Jill, Eddie and Angelique don’t play such a big part i this book, there are some interactions with them, but it is obvious the focus is on other characters. Sydney spends a lot of time with Adrian in this book and there is quite some romance in this book. And Sydneys magic teacher (sorry I can’t seem to remember her name) also plays a big part in this book. And we finally find out who Marcus Finch is, but I have to say I was a bit disapointed by him, he wasn’t like I expected him to be.

In terms of world building, not much happens. There are some small new bits of knowledge added, but it is obvious that world building isn’t the focus of this book. The story and the characters are way more important.

Also the ending is much like we’ve come to expect from the two earlier books, some things get resolved and then there is a sort of cliffhanger that promises problems in the next book. Well this book is the same, although a little bit different. I actually quite liked the ending and then the sort of cliffhanger this-changes-verything bit was trown in. I guess that it is supposed to make me curious to the next book, but it just felt a bit lame because this is how every book in this series had ended so far.

To conclude: I really liked this book, I wanted to keep reading and I think this is the best book so far in the Bloodlines series. Sydney really grows in this book, I really like her as a character and it was great so see her grow so much. This book doesn’t focus much on the world building. And the ending is quite like we’ve come to expect from this series.
