My Rating: 4 stars
Genre: Cozy Fantasy
Age Category: Adult
Type of romance: f/f
Blurb:
When Cassie helps out the grumpy cat with tidying up Hallewell’s Bureau of Curiosities, a suspicious clock places a curse of bad luck upon her. When everything that can go wrong goes wrong, Cassie desperately needs to find herself a deity who will grant her some good fortune or she’ll be doomed forever. Meanwhile, the cursed clock just keeps ticking, ticking, ticking.****
The Coffee House Witch & The Cursed Clock is the third book in the Cobblestone Coven series and it follows witch Cassiopeia and her return to her hometown. It’s a cozy fantasy with a sapphic romance in a magical world with talking animals and lots of light-hearted banter.
My Review
I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
I enjoyed the first two books in this series and was looking forward to continue the series. This is the third book in this series and it follows Cassie’s adventures after she returns to her hometown and tries to figure out what she wants to do with her life. In this book she is helping grumpy cat Balthazar clean out the house and antique shop of his previous owner. She also starts to realize her depth of feelings for her friend Faye.
I liked this one and had a great time reading it. This one could be a bit sad at times with them cleaning out Viktor’s house and seeing Balthazar struggle with his grief and not knowing how to show it as he is a grumpy cat and pretends he doesn’t need help. I liked seeing how Cassie and Faye did what they could to help him and be there for him. And the moments Balthazar softens a bit or says something nice are so precious. I like seeing Balthazar and Cassie grow slowly closer throughout the series. And the scene were she buys a cat bed for him was so sweet!
I also like seeing Cassie and Faye grow closer. There are some sweet scenes involving them as they work together in this book. I liked seeing Cassie stop by for dumpling night at Faye’s house. I liked seeing Cassie slowly realize her depth of feelings for Faye. They are so cute together and I really like Faye and think she’s a good match for Cassie.
I also liked seeing a bit more about the magic. Cassie is struggling with her magic and while she has made some progress she still only has a very little bit of magic. With them clearing out Viktor’s house they find his items with which he connected with the deities he choose and I liked how this expanded the knowledge about the deities and how it works. I also liked seeing Cassie make some more progress with her own deity work and processing her ended relationship with her ex more.
To summarize: This was another solid installment. I liked reading more about Cassie and seeing her make progress in her personal life when it comes to processing her past relationship, figuring things out about her magic and deities as well as realizing her depth of feelings for Faye. I like reading about Faye and Cassie together and there are some sweet scenes involving them. This one could be a bit sad at times seeing Balthazar the cat struggle with his grief as they clear out the house of his previous owner. I like seeing Balthazar grow closer to Cassie. I liked how this book resolved things in regards to the house and clock and I look forward to the next book.

That sounds fun.
