Leviathan Fitness is the favorite place of monsters, muscles, and a tentacled creature who can seduce even the hardest to win over human.

When parks department supervisor Reece Rollins decides to sign up for a triathlon– there are two things holding him back. One, his fear of monsters. Two, his sub-par swimming skills.

At the urging of his sister’s wolven mate, Reece joins Leviathan Fitness to train in the gym’s olympic size swimming pool. After running into Reece at the pool, Cyrus offers to help Reece get ready to win the race.

New feelings arise from the depths as Reece and Cyrus learn that monsters and humans go together, tentacle in hand. The only question is- can these two hold on to their new found love despite their differences?

Tentacles & Triathlons is book two in the Leviathan Fitness series. Each book will center around the gym and feature a different monster pairing.

My Review

I really enjoyed the first book in this series and was looking forward to continue the series. Tentacles & Triathlons has the same blend of sweet and steamy as the first book and I really liked that vibe. It’s feels like a light and easy read and the main characters are so sweet together, but there’s also plenty of steam.

This book follows Reece, the brother of Tegan from book 1, as well as Cyrus, one of the best friends of Atlas from book 1. This provided a nice tie in with the first book and I liked seeing a bit more of Atlas and Tegan in this book. I think it probably also works as standalone, you just won’t know the backstory of the couple.

Reece was quite rude to Tegan in the first book and I was curious to see how that would work with him getting his own romance. I quite liked the character development he undergoes in this book, slowly becoming more comfortable around monsters and even falling in love with one. While Cyrus has been feeling a bit depressed and has no inspiration for painting, which changes when he meets Reece. There’s also a plot line with Cyrus training Reece for the triathlon.

I liked reading about Reece and Cyrus together. I like how there is no drama just like the first one. These two are so sweet together and there are some interesting and hot steamy scenes. I liked seeing them figure things out together and seeing their romance develop. I liked how supportive they are of each other and how they are there for the other. This one took place over the course of a few months and that made sense for this couple. They still go from barely knowing each other to lovers quite quickly, but I liked how we got a bit of a longer time view of their romance.

The narrators were great. Jack Calihan was one of the narrators for the first book, so I was already familiar with him. Liam Price was a new to me narrator, he did the British accent for Cyrus well and having two narrators worked well to give each of the main characters their own vibes.

To summarize: I had a great time listening to this one. This series so far has a nice blend of sweet and steamy with no drama. I liked Reece and Cyrus together, they were so sweet together and I liked seeing their romance progress. I liked there is some character development for Reece with him overcoming his fear of monsters and growing more comfortable around them. There are some fun appearances of the couple form the first book and it was fun to read a bit more about them. The narrators for this one were both good and I enjoyed listening to this book.

Glad to hear it worked as a standalone so well too. I really enjoy this series so far and hope to get to book 3 soon.
