Holly the elf doesn’t normally enjoy the Christmas season, but all that changes when her flatmates insist on exchanging Secret Santa gifts.
On her quest to find the perfect present, Holly meets a fellow elf who is determined to make sure she has some fun, no matter what it takes.
As sparks start to fly between them, Holly finds herself looking forward to spending more time with Chris, even if it means celebrating the Holidays.
Secret Santa For Grumpy Elves is a light-hearted elf academy m/f romance set at Obscure Academy. It is Chris and Holly’s complete story.
I was in the mood for a light and fun read and decided to pick up another Obscure Academy story. I really enjoyed Secret Santa for Grumpy Elves, Holly and Chris were great together and the tone and feel of this book was perfect for what I was in the mood for.
Holly is an elf who doesn’t like Christmas, when she has to get a secret santa present for one of her flatmates she bumps into Chris who works at the soap store where she’s buying the present. The two connect and arrange to meet again. I liked seeing these tow spend time together and how Chris could show Holly the joy of the Christmas season and Holly opened up about why she didn’t like Christmas and slowly grew to like it more.
I really like the way Laura Greenwood writes romances, Holly and Chris were so good together. They respected the other and they were so sweet together. I really could feel their connection and I liked seeing it deepen.
The paranormal element was pretty mild in this one, but I liked how it still adds something to the setting and story. I liked the Christmas timing and the secret Santa gift theme. I thought the Christmas vibe came across well and I liked reading about some of the UK Christmas traditions like the crackers.
To summarize: This was a lighthearted and fun story set around Christmas time. I really enjoyed this one and it fit my mood for a lighthearted and fun read perfectly. I liked Holly and Chris and the way they meet and start dating. It was such a sweet romance and I could feel their connection. I really like the way this author writes romances, they feel real and romantic. The paranormal element here was light, but I thought it was fun to read a Christmas story about an elf.
