Rite Of Blood And Masks is book three of House Of Blood And Roses. It is a fantasy romance series full of vampires, court intrigue, and a slow-burn hidden identity arranged marriage m/f romance that includes steam from book three onwards.
My Review
I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
Rite of Blood and Masks is the third book in this vampire fantasy romance series. I really enjoyed the first 2 books and this book was another good one. There are some really interesting developments plot wise in this one. And there was a certain reveal I was waiting for since the first book, so that was fun to see that play out.
I like how Beatrice has gotten a bit more comfortable with her new situation as a vampire and is still learning more about vampire court and politics. Her romance with Linc is great to see and I loved seeing their relationship deepen even more in this book. This book has a bit of steam as well, which was nice to see after the build up over the past few books. And I look forward to seeing how their romance develops after what happened in this book.
Besides the romance there are some political plot lines going on as well. I did struggle a bit sometimes remember who was who with everyone having a first name, surname and house name. It was nice there was a bit of explanation of how all the names and titles worked in this one as Beatrice didn’t understood it all either.
To summarize: I really enjoy this series and this was another great book. I liked reading about Beatrice who has gotten more comfortable at the vampire court now. I like seeing her romance with Linc deepen. The plot has some interesting development and I liked seeing that all play out. I did struggle a few times with remember who was who among the side characters with all the names and house titles. I look forward to the next book and seeing how all the plot developments continue to play out as well as how the romance develops.
Beautiful cover! Glad you are enjoying this series. There was a time I’d have been reading this as well. I’ll have to keep it in mind to share with my students who really like this type of story. Great review!

I agree, the whole series has great covers. I mostly picked it up as I like this author’s books, but found myself really enjoying the series so far.
