About Pisces Hooks Taurus
Pisces Hooks Taurus (Signs of Love #4)
by Anyta Sunday
Rating: 4 stars
Genre: Contemporary Romance/ MM Romance
Blurb:
It’s a time for searching, and a time for finding, Pisces: keep casting your line and you will hook what you’re looking for.Zane has it all planned out: land the perfect Meet Cute, fall in love, and live happily ever after.
Should be simple enough if he put his mind to it. A little creativity and some thinking outside of the box, and voila, he’d be married to the woman of his dreams.
It would be perfect.
And it would be before his visa ran out.But why are his feelings running wild now that the pressure’s on? Why is his picture-perfect plan turning into a muddled mess of morphed metaphors he can’t make sense of anymore?
Just as well he’s met an English professor to help. And even though their first meet is anything but cute, this down-to-earth teacher may just be the realist Zane needs to ground him and give him a shot at love after all.
Don’t cast your line too wide, Pisces. Your perfect catch may already have bitten.

Pisces Hooks Taurus (Signs of Love #4) is an MM opposites-attract romantic comedy featuring an unapologetic romantic and a broken realist.
More wit, banter and bad puns – and even more heart-stopping slow burn!
Can be read as a standalone.
My Review
I received a free copy of this book from A Novel Take PR and voluntarily reviewed it.
Gah I love this series. Pisces Hooks Taurus was such a well done slow building romance where I really could feel the connection between the two main characters and the depth of their feelings. Their romance developed slowly and realistically and I liked how much they cared about each other. It’s filled with sweet and touching scenes. It’s a bit friends-to-lovers and has a bit of opposites attract too.
Pisces Hooks Taurus follows the story of Zane. Zane is a hopeless romantic, he hopes to find love and marry so he can stay in the States. His visa expires in four week and he would like to live in the US to be closer to his favorite brother who just got his first kid. He is looking for love everywhere and is hung up on a bunch of romance tropes like meet cutes and love at first sight, but also willing to work hard for his romance and won’t settle for anything less than true love. He finds love in the most unlikely of places.
When he gets kicked out of his current place and needs a new place to stay, his brother’s wife recommends him to Beckett. I loved the scene where Zane and Beckett first met, it was so funny. The misunderstandings and how realistic the whole situation felt. I found Zane a great main character, he is open and wears his heart on his sleeve and at the same time sometimes thinks too little of himself. He keeps going and has a lot of optimism and the scene where he has a bad day might be one of most touching ones as there is just something about seeing a character like that being down and his love interest being there to cheer him up that’s just awesome.
Anyta Sunday can write slow burn romances so well. And there are few things I love more in books than a well done slow burn romance. And while I loved seeing Zane and Beckett finally together, I have to admit the burn was probably my favorite part. While we only get Zane’ point of view in this book, the way Beckett reacts tells you a lot and you can fill in the pieces of his thoughts and emotions. I felt sorry for Beckett at times as Zane is so oblivious, but it does make sense. And the moment when he finally realizes he has feelings for Beckett and struggles to convey that was great too.
These two were just perfect together, They have some amazing banter, are there for each other in any way they need and just fit together perfectly. Even while they are quite different too, it was their differences that made them so good for each other and also the willingness to immerse themselves in what the other liked.
Zane is the most caring and considerate person ever, who struggles with not feeling good enough. He’s a high school dropout who loves art and struggles to find the right words. Beckett is a professor who loved and got his trust broken and is afraid to trust and love again. And seeing him fall in love with Zane was awesome and how he slowly opens his heart again. And I loved how Beckett encouraged Zane to do better with his stories and reach higher, while also showing him he was fine the way he is. I loved how they are there for each other in whatever way necessary. There is a bit of heat at the end, but I also liked how that wasn’t the focus.
There are some fun side characters, but really the focus is mostly on Zane and Beckett and their romance and even while it’s not a short read, I just want more of these two. Darla, Leah and Jacob all have a role in this story and Finnegan and Luke as well. It was fun to see how they interacted with the other characters too, but how the focus stayed on Zane and Beckett.
To summarize: this was such an awesome romance with a perfect slow burn and two characters who are perfect for each other. The story is filled with funny moments, touching ones and some slightly sad parts. I loved how well these two characters fit together even tough it took them a while to figure that out themselves. There are some fun side characters, but the focus is on Zane and Beckett. The banter is awesome and I loved how caring these two are and how they are there for each other. Zane was a great main character, a romantic and optimist who was usually cheerful, but had some struggles too. Beckett had been hurt and is reluctant to trust before. While we don’t get Beckett’s point of view, the way it’s written you can still get a lot of what he is feeling as well. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next book in this series as I love these books. I would recommend it to those who enjoy a good slow burn mm romance.

Teaser and Excerpt
Excerpt:
“Luke jumped to the boyfriend conclusion on his own. I would have corrected him, but he made such a fuss about not touching you in front of him. Said it would be weird.” Zane shrugged. “He wound me up the wrong way. I don’t want him telling me how I can be or not be around you. That’s our business, don’t you think?”
Beckett leaned against the doorjamb. “How we are together—whether we touch, kiss, sleep naked, have sex or not—that is most definitely our business.”
Zane swallowed, gaze lingering on Beckett’s cool pose. “That’s—” He cleared his throat. “That’s what I thought.”
Beckett pushed off the doorframe with the flat of his foot and Zane’s chest doubled in size.
Zane scored a hand through his hair. “Sometimes, I feel like . . . .”
“Like?” Beckett didn’t move away nor move forward. He stayed still, patient as always.
“I need a bath.”
Zane turned and fled into the house.

The whole series is awesome. And the slow burn, great characters and banter is something each of the books have :).
I do read a lot of books with banter in them. A character that has a lot of snark is always high up on my favorites list. This sounds like an interesting story. Glad you enjoyed it.

It had a fun setup, I liked how different these two were and how well they fit together.
It does seem like you’re loving this series! Aww, a hopeless romantic who wears his heart on his sleeve <3 The relationship sounds really sweet. I agree, slow burns are great! And the way they're so different but still work so well together also sounds great.
It really is an amazing series. I really liked Zayne with how he was so romantic and wear his heart on his sleeve, but also is a but oblivious when the love he finds is right in front of him, but he doens’t realize it. And this author writes the slow burns so well.
I have 2 books in this series because of you, Lola. 😉 This one does sound realistically done and very sweet. I love a slow burn where we’re allowed to watch the feelings grow and can really feel their connection. I’m happy you’re enjoying the series so much. 🙂
I am happy to hear you got 2 books in this series :). I hope you’ll enjoy them when you get around to reading the, The stories are all realistically done and sweet with great slow burn romances.
