Robbie Jordan’s Pans ’N Pancakes boasts delicious eats and the best vintage cookware finds in South Lick, Indiana. And now, for a limited time, there’s a new special featured on the menu—murder!

Ever since meeting the wary owners of an antique shop opening across the street, Robbie has been scrambling to manage weird incidences plaguing her café and country store. Pricey items vanish from shelves without explanation, a fully equipped breakfast food truck starts lingering around the area each morning, and loyal diners mysteriously fall ill. When an elderly man dies after devouring an omelet packed with poisonous mushrooms, Robbie must temporarily close down Pans ’N Pancakes and search for the killer with a real zest for running her out of business—or else.

My Review

This is one of my favorite cozy mystery series and I happily dived into this book. It’s always so comforting and fun to return to the familiar setting and characters. No Grater Crime has an unique set up for the mystery, this time someone dies after eating in Robbie’s store. The cause seems to be a bad food product that got shipped and all the clues point to a certain family being involved. It’s just not clear who or what or why it happened and that’s what Robbie wants to find out.

I thought this mystery was well done. From the start it seems clear one family seems involved in what happened, but even so I was never quite sure who had done it and why and what exactly had happened. It was interesting to follow Robbie along as she tries to figure out what happened. I enjoyed seeing it all play out.

In Robbie’s daily life we read about her store as usual. I always enjoy those scenes and reading about the food they prepare and how much she cares about her store. I was sad when the store was closed for a bit. Besides the store there also is Robbie and Abe planning for their upcoming wedding, which was fun to read about. There are the usual familiar side characters as well as some new ones.

To summarize: This was another great read in this series. I really enjoyed reading about Robbie’s daily life as well as the mystery. The mystery was quite interesting with there being a limited amount of suspects all surrounding the same family, but it still kept me guessing who had done it and why. This was another fun read and I look forward to the next one!
