My Review
I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
Manifesting and Mischief is the third book in this series and I am having so much fun reading this series. Hazel and her coven get involved in another mystery in this one when a witch named Wanda is visiting the town and tries to buy the newspaper, soon she’s found dead and Hazel tries to figure out who has done it.
The mystery was a fun one to see play out. I liked how there was a clear sense of progression throughout, with new clues coming to light, but it kept me guessing till the end and even then I guessed something wrongly. I liked how hazel was the one to figure out who was the murderer and I liked seeing how the reveal played out.
This was another fun read. I really like reading about Hazel and her coven. They are all such fun and interesting characters and the found family theme is awesome. I really like how they’re always there for each other and help each other out. This time Jo is more closely linked to the mystery as she works at the newspaper and they are all doing their best to help her. Then Marlee has a memorial party for Wanda to organize and Valerian stays busy at the tavern with all the gossip going around. I like how all of the characters have plenty of page time and there’s a lot about each character in the coven. And there’s plenty with them as a group working together or helping each other.
Besides the focus on Hazel and her coven, there’s a growing group of fun side characters as well. I liked how we see Gnorris the gnome again and there’s more about Barry the Bigfoot and his past. Then there are some new side characters as well that are related to the mystery and their role in it. I also like how this series has some overarching plot lines related to the characters as well as a mystery about what happened to Hazel’s uncle before he died.
I also like how magical this series feels. Hazel and her coven do a lot of magic and then there are the fantastical creatures like a Bigfoot and Gargoyles as well as a garden gnome. It’s a lot of fun. I also enjoy how Hazel has this business delivering things and she uses the old hearse and gurney for it, it’s just makes me smile every time when I imagine her delivering good like that.
To summarize: I had a great time reading this book, this is such a fun series and it keeps getting better. This book had a solid mystery and some character related plot lines progressing as well. I really like reading about Hazel and her coven and reading more about them all. The found family theme is so well done and there’s a great group of side characters as well. The mystery kept me guessing and I liked how Hazel investigated and how she was the one to figure it out. The magical elements are a fun addition and I like reading about the magic and the mythical creatures that live in the town. All in all another great read in this fun series and I look forward to the next book!

I enjoy these lighter paranormal cozy mysteries, too. I’ll have to check out the series.

I love a mystery that keeps me guessing right until the very end—especially when I think I’ve solved it only to be proven wrong! This series sounds right up my alley. Thanks for sharing your thoughts; great review!
