My Review

I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

Love Letters & Lemon Drops is a standalone romance set in the cozy fantasy series Falhaven Castle. After reading the prequel Dragons & Dumplings I was so excited to read more of this series. I am going through a stressful time and want to read cozy stories and having a cozy fantasy written by one of my favorite authors was the perfect fit for my reading mood.

Love Letter & Lemon Drops follows the story of Princess Solana who finally comes to Falhaven to marry prince Arthur. The two have been exchanging letters for a while now and while their parents encouraged a marriage they did have the option to decide themselves. So that was a fun set up for their romance, it had some arranged marriage vibes, but the two agreed to the marriage and exchange letters till they meet again.

This was such a sweet read. I really liked reading about Solana and Arthur, they were both interesting characters and I liked them together. I liked how their romance already had begun with their letters and now they finally meet in real life again and their connection deepens. It was fun to have them already know each other, but haven’t seen each other in real life a lot and now discovering what it’s like to actually know eahc other in real life. I thought Arthur’s passion for animals was fun to see and seeing Solana adapt to live in Falhaven and figuring out what she wants from her life going forward was interesting.

They were just so cute together, there are so many sweet and fun scenes. I liked seeing them grow closer, the nice gestures to each other and the way they make time to spend together and get to know each other better. I liked them together and how sweet and kind they are, they obviously care a lot about each other. There also is a bit of a steam and it was fun seeing them explore and learn about that together.

I also liked seeing Evie from Solana’s point of view and getting a different perspective on the castle and it’s inhabitants. There also is a bit about food and these lemon drops that Evie makes for them.

To summarize: This was such a sweet read. I really liked this standalone romance set in the Falhaven castle cozy fantasy series. This book follows a different couple than the main books in the series. I liked reading about Solana and Arthur, it was fun how they already knew each other due to exchanging letters and now get to meet in real life as their marriage draws closer. I really liked these two together, they are so sweet and there are so many fun and cute scenes with the two of them as they get to know each other better. There is a bit of steam as well and I liked seeing them explore that together. All in all I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more books in the series!

    • I really liked it. And I hope you enjoy it if you get around to reading it. One of the other books in the series Dragons & Dumplings is currently free if you want to stat the series that way.
