Blurb:
Virginity.

Bliss Edwards is about to graduate from college and still has hers. Sick of being the only virgin among her friends, she decides the best way to deal with the problem is to lose it as quickly and simply as possible– a one-night stand. But her plan turns out to be anything but simple when she freaks out and leaves a gorgeous guy alone and naked in her bed with an excuse that no one with half-a-brain would ever believe. And as if that weren’t embarrassing enough, when she arrives for her first class of her last college semester, she recognizes her new theatre professor. She’d left him naked in her bed about 8 hours earlier.

My Review:
As soon as I heard about this book I knew I wanted to read it, I mean the blurb just sounds awesome, but for some reason I put off buying it for a long time. And now I finally got to read it!

I really enjoyed this book, it’s funny and there are so many awkward and funny situations. The beginning felt a bit off to me, maybe because I believe there should be love first and then sex. But soon I was totally caught up in the story and I just wanted to keep reading. I also love the fact that Blis is a theatre student, I never read about a theatre student before and I thought it was really interesting. I also liked the focus wasn’t only on the relationship (okay mostly it was), but there was also her friends and thinking about her future and job. Sure these things weren’t the most important part, but I still liked that this was given some attention, because when I was in university I thought about my future a lot (not that I ever could figure out what I wanted to become). I really like the writing style.

I really like Bliss as a character. In many books, the characters feel just a little bit too perfect, but Blis is perfectly real. She makes some mistakes, panics on some unfortunate moments and is clumsy sometimes. She just feels like a real person, real not too perfect. I realy liked her. Garrick was mostly a nice guy and I really liked him although I would’ve liked getting to know him a little bit better.

There were some small things I didn’t like. At the beginning Bliss and Garrick meet and they almost immediately jump in bed and even though they take it slower after that I still felt like they skipped the getting to know each other part and I think this is also one of the reasons I felt like I didn’t get to know Garrick that well. There were also some parts/points of their relationship that bothered me a bit and while at some times they are very straightforward with each other at other times I wish they would just talk and explain things to each other.

To conclude: I really liked this book. I liked the story and the thing that made me really like this book is probably Bliss and her clumsiness. I laughed out loud a few times at some funny and awkward scenes. There where some small things that bothered me, but overall I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading more from this author!

  1. The entertainment side of the humour is what made me love this one, too. It made a change to read something so light-hearted after all the dark-and mysterious/jaded pasts NAs out there.
