Knot for SaleKnot for Sale (The Packverse #3)
by Ember Blaze

My Rating: 4 stars

Genre: Omegaverse
Age Category: Adult
Type of romance: Polyamory

Blurb:
I crossed an ocean to escape my family, and it still wasn’t far enough.

After fleeing from London to New York, I reinvented myself. I was no longer Emma Huntwell, the orphaned omega daughter of a murdered crime syndicate boss. Instead, I became Emma Hope, a high-powered runway model with a thriving career, hiding in plain sight as a beta.

Now my past is catching up to me in the form of threatening text messages and disappearing fashion clients. When my agency threatens to fire me, I know I’m being blackballed by someone powerful behind the scenes.

My last chance to salvage my career finds me on a yacht off the coast of Greece, competing against a dozen other models for an exclusive contract with The Secret Boudoir. But my father’s old rival is here as well, and he’s not content with killing my career. He wants revenge of a far more personal kind.

Trapped on a boat with my heat coming on and my blocker pills stolen, my only hope lies with a mysterious billionaire and his two intimidating bodyguards. Gabriel Rosencranz has his own score to settle with the Huntwell crime family—and right now, I stand firmly in the way of his goals.

Neither of us have room in our lives for a pack. But fate doesn’t always care about our plans.

Knot for Sale is an 85,000-word non-shifter omegaverse standalone with an HEA for the pack. It contains M/M, and one of the love interests is non-binary.

My Review

I enjoyed the other omegaverse books by Ember Blaze so I bought this one on release day and now got around to reading it after reading the first 2 Packverse books earlier this year. While this one is marked as book 3, it can easily be read as a standalone. It follows a different pack and there’s only a small overlap with how the main character of this book Emma made an appearance and helped the main character of the first two books.

Knot for sale follows Emma as she gets a shady modelling opportunity, desperate to save her career she takes it. Her roommate and fellow omega Elijah follows her and they both end up on a high end cruise ship for the job. Where Elijah lives life openly as an omega, Emma is hiding and pretending to be a beta. When her heatblockers get stolen by vindictive family members the pair meets alpha Gabriel and he helps them out.

I liked seeing the romance develop between the characters. This one involves 3 alphas, one of whom is nonbinary, and then the two omegas. The alphas know each other already and have their own banter among themselves which was fun to see. I liked seeing Emma and Elijah grow closer and then get to know the alphas and then they grow into a pack. I liked the character dynamics, seeing them all interact with eahc and the whole omegaverse tropes with the alphas protecting the omegas and taking care of them. I appreciated how much they all seem to care about each other and are there for the other. There are multiple sex scenes and I thought they were hot to read with quite some variety.

While there are some scenes that deal with some danger as well as some character struggles, this book stays fairly light and focused on the romance most of the time. The struggles don’t get as drawn out and get resolved relatively quickly. The danger with Emma’s family and the crime operation they run is mostly to kick off the plot with Emma’s heatblockers getting stolen, but after that they mostly get relayed to the sidelines and the way it got resolved felt a bit rushed. As I was mostly invested in the romance I didn’t mind too much.

To summarize: I’ve enjoyed the other books by Ember Blaze and enjoyed this one as well. I liked the romance and seeing the characters grow closer. The sex scenes are hot. And I like seeing the characters care about other and take care of each other. I liked seeing the romance develop. There are some character struggles as well as a bit of danger, but they get resolved fairly easily and the book remains fairly light in tone. I enjoyed reading this one and the epilogue and ending was well done and wrapped it up with a glimpse of their future.

    • I don’t often read very steamy books, but I really like the way this author writes the steamy scenes as they are very hot. I don’t know if she attends any conventions, that’s possible, I don’t usually pay attention to that as I can’t attend them anyway. Or maybe it was another author writing omegaverse? It got quite popular as a genre, although this author’s books are the only ones I’ve read.
