When Sariah finds herself at the altar opposite the man she most wants to see there, but least wants to kill, she knows that she’s going to have a choice to make.

My Review
I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
Heart of Blood and Ice is a story set in the A House of Blood and Roses series and follows a different couple than the main books do, but it is connected to the main story. This is the story of Sariah who is a trained assassin. She’s falling for Julian, but her father warns her about having emotions as an assassin and thus gives her the order to marry and kill him. Sariah now has to figure out what to do as she’s falling for her husband and doesn’t want to kill him.
I really enjoyed this story. I felt for Sariah and how she got to be an assassin and now was stuck in that position while she didn’t really want to kill people. I thought her struggle and feelings were very well written and then her latest order to marry and kill Julian makes it all the tougher as she loves him and doesn’t want to kill him.
I liked seeing Sariah and Julian grow closer. I liked how understanding and acceptign Julian was and how he was there for her and tried to figure out a different way. He was just so sweet and he was the perfect match for Sariah and getting her to see she was worth more than to be a tool to be used for killing people. I was eager to see how they would find a way out of their predicament and thought the resolution was very done. I really liked the ending and the epilogue has a great hint of how this will tie in with the main story and I can’t wait to see more of Sariah in future books.
To summarize: This was a great addition to the series. It shows the dark side of the vampire court very well with how Sariah is a trained assassin and now her father wants her to kill the man she loves. I really felt for Sariah and her emotions and struggles were well written. I liked seeing her grow closer to Julian and seeing them try to figure out what to do. Julian was very sweet and good for her and I liked their romance. I liked the resolution and the ending as well as the hint of how this story will tie in with the main series.
Ohh vampire court. This sounds like a good one. I was gone all this week from the internet because my brother was in town. I’m back now and trying to catch up.
I hope you had a fun visit with your brother :). I really like this series and can definitely recommend it.
Beautiful cover, and I used to read a lot of vampire stories, so might have to check this out. Great review, glad you’re enjoying this series!
