My Rating: 4 stars

Genre: Cozy Mystery
Age Category: Adult
Type of romance: MF

Blurb:
It’s Saint Patrick’s Day in South Lick, Indiana, but a holiday cooking competition at Robbie Jordan’s country store and restaurant Pans ‘N Pancakes is put on the back-burner when a killer strikes.

There’s no mistaking Saint Patrick’s Day at Pans ‘N Pancakes. Robbie may only be Irish by marriage to Abe O’Neill, but the shelves of vintage cookware in her southern Indiana store are draped with glittery shamrocks and Kelly-green garlands and her restaurant is serving shepherd’s pie and Guinness Beer brownies. The big event, however, is a televised cooking competition to be filmed on site.

Unfortunately, someone’s luck has run out. Before the cameras start rolling, tough-as-nails producer Tara O’Hara Moore is found upstairs in her B&B room, bludgeoned apparently by the heavy hilt of a cleaver left by her side. Now, not only does Robbie have a store full of festive decorations, she’s got a store full of suspects . . .

My Review

I received a free copy from the publisher through Netgalley and voluntarily reviewed it.

Four Leaf Cleaver is the eleventh book in the Country Story Mysteries series. This is one of my favorite cozie mystery series and I was excited to dive into this latest installment. It’s Saint Patrick’s Day and Robbie has agreed to have a cooking show take place in her shop after work hours. The producer ends up getting killed and Robbie gets involved into another mystery.

The mystery was a good one. Although somehow I managed to guess the culprit in one of the first scenes with all the suspects, not even sure why, but I knew for sure that I was right and I was. Nevertheless I really enjoyed seeing the mystery play out. I felt it was fun seeing everything play out while knowing the culprit and seeing how the characters got to the same conclusion. I felt like there were plenty of suspects and plenty of secrets that come to light along the way, which I always enjoy. I thought it made sense how Robbie came to the conclusion and I liked how she was smart about her sleuthing. The ending was great and wrapped everything up well.

One of my favorite parts of this series is reading about Robbie’s daily life and her store. In this book Robbie and her husband Abe are trying to get pregnant, but they don’t have much luck yet. Besides that she’s growing closer to her stepson Sean, which I enjoyed reading about. And then there is her work at the restaurant, I always enjoy reading about her work days and the specials they come up with. There wasn’t as much about the actual cooking show, it was more the set up for the mystery and the characters involved, but I thought that worked here.

To summarize: Another great read in this series. This is one of my favorite cozy mystery series and I had fun reading this one. The mystery was a good one, although I did manage to guess the culprit very early one. I still enjoyed seeing things progress and how Robbie figured out who was the killer. The daily life parts are one of my favorite parts of this series. I like reading about Robbie’s daily life, the characters she interacts with and her work at her restaurant. I already look forward to the next book in the series!
