Some myths hold a seed of truth. She must uncover the truth behind the myth of Hades, god of the underworld…before it destroys her.

Using wit and gumption—along with a hearty dose of her newfound psychic gifts—Cora Blackthorn has narrowly escaped the clutches of the Custodes Veritatis. With the help of her closest friend and strongest ally, Raiden Cross, as well as her mental hitchhiker, Persephone, Cora must outrun the sinister secret order long enough to uncover the mysteries left behind by Hades, the last of the Olympians. But when an ancient treasure hunt turns into a wild goose chase, Cora fears the worst—the quest is hopeless.

Until an unexpected discovery sets Cora on a new path. A hidden civilization thrives deep underground beneath the Amazon rainforest, and they have been waiting for Persephone’s return. With their help, Cora discovers that the greatest danger to her life isn’t the Order; it is Persephone, herself…

Fate of the Fallen is the second book in the captivating sci-fi adventure series, the Atlantis Legacy. If you like ancient mysteries, Greek mythology, treasure-hunting adventurers, and dynamic characters, then you’ll love this exhilarating adventure!

My Review

Fate of the Fallen is the second book in this science fiction adventure series. Fate of the Fallen starts shortly after the end of book 1 as Raiden and Cora are in the Amazon jungle searching for the next clue. They’re trying to find the alien Hades and he left clues as to how they can find him. There is danger, adventure and action along the way and this was another exciting read.

This book kept my attention from start to finish and it was a great read. There are some interesting reveals, more we learn about the aliens and Hades and there are plenty of struggles and dangers Cora and Raiden must face. There are unexpected new allies and encounters with existing ones. The danger of the Order is a bit farther away for most of this book and I actually liked that with the focus being more on discovering the truth and figuring out where the omega site was.

I liked reading about Cora and learning more about her. It’s interesting to see how she deals with having Peri in her head as well and how that works out as well as the struggles. I thought it was great to see how she handled everything and also to see her doubts and fears as she struggles with things. It made her feel both capable and realistically human, I liked that. We see more of her psychic powers as well. There’s a big change that happens late in this book and I am curious to see how that will play out in future books.

To summarize: I enjoyed this second book in this science fiction adventure series. There’s plenty of adventure, danger and action, as well as some interesting psychic powers. There are clues they have to follow to figure out what Hades wants and find the Omega site and it was exciting following their journey. I like Cora and how she is capable, but also feels realistic and human with her fears and doubts. It was interesting to read about how she handled having Peri in her head and also the struggles. There is a big change toward the end and I am curious to see how that plays out in future books.
