My Rating: 3 stars

Type of romance: f/f

Hel isn’t the kind of goddess to just fall in love…except that now she might want to.As a necromancer and underworld goddess, Hel knows more about death than love, but when she meets a witch with her head in the clouds, she discovers it might not be as bad as she thinks.
Clara specialises in potions to help with sweet dreams and good luck, though she’s never had much of the latter when it comes to love. All of that is about to change when she meets Hel.
Can the two of them find their common ground?

My Review
I received a free copy from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
I really like the Jinx Paranormal Dating Agency series and was eager to read another book in this series. Dreaming with Hel features goddess Hel as she falls in love with a potion making witch named Clara.
This was another fun and easy read. I like these romances and how low on drama these are. I liked both Clara and Hel. It was interesting to read about them and their jobs and personal lives. The plot line about the dreaming of the dead potion Clara was making was interesting too and I liked seeing how that got resolved. I liked the cameo appearances of previous main characters. Especially Thor and Daisy were prominent side characters in this one. I also liked Hel’s hellhound puppy and the scenes with him.
The one night stand and then working together trope isn’t one I am a big fan of, so that made it a bit harder to enjoy this book. I liked how clear Hel was about this just being a one night stand and setting expectations, although ofcourse it’s clear to readers that it will turn into more. Both characters keep thinking of the other after their fantastic one night stand and then they work together on the potion and eventually go on a date, which was fun to see.
Another struggle I had with this one it just felt a bit too short for the type of change going on. Hel doesn’t date and only does one night stands, but after the one night stand with Clara she ends up working with her after that on a potion Clara’s making and she keeps thinking of Clara. I just felt that the change of her strict boundaries and no dating rule just felt like it went too fast. These are all shorter reads, so it makes sense, but I just felt the change went too quickly now. This just felt like the type of change that’s more satisfying to see occur over a slightly longer read. It just felt a bit too easy and sudden now.
To summarize: This was another fun in this series. This one follows goddess Hel and potion making witch Clara. They have a one night stand that turns into more after they start working together on a potion and they eventually go on a date. The potion making plot line was interesting and I liked seeing how that played out. It also was fun to see more of Thor and Daisy as they are prominent side characters here. Hel’s hellhound puppy was a fun addition too. I liked Hel and Clara together, but I didn’t fully feel this romance and would’ve liked more scenes of them getting to know each other. I don’t usually like the one night stand turns into working together and then dating trope. I also felt that the change in Hel with her strict rule against dating and fear of letting anyone get close was resolved a bit too quickly and I think that plot line works better in a slightly longer story. All in all I still had a good time reading this one.
