Mountains, miracles, and marriage.

I had no idea what to expect when the producers of Dr. Hoffman sent me to the pristine white mountains of Aspen, Colorado. As the town of Aspen is known for being a winter haven for uber-rich Americans, I knew this desert cactus was going to be way out of her element. The ace up my sleeve however, was a high-class movie-making surfer whose family owned a cabin in those snowy hills. With him by my side, I’d make the most out of the experience.

The job was assigned under unusual circumstances. An anonymous mountain man paid a hefty fee to persuade the producers of my show to send me out for a segment on local artisans. Suited up in my parka and Ugg boots, I put the warmth of the California sun in the rearview mirror and headed to a winter wonderland.

With my newfound family in tow, I was prepared to celebrate the best month the year had to offer…until the one woman who drastically changed my life all those years ago appeared like a shadow out of pure frosted air, shattering my soul all over again.

In the twelfth and final book in the Calendar Girl serial, Mia is off to Aspen, Colorado to film a segment on local artists. Prepare to be wowed as Mia’s journey merges into the ending everyone has been waiting for.

Warning: This book is designed for audiences 18+ due to language and graphic sexual content.

My Review:
This was the perfect ending to the series! And once I finished it left me feeling happy with how everything for wrapped up. In this last episode Mia goes to a cabin in a mountain town to interview some local artists and spend Christmas there. Mia gets a surprise when she arrives there and there is one more issue to deal with. I could understand why she handled things the way she did and it must be difficult for her to deal with that. I did think it explained a lot and gave us one more piece to understand. A few things made a bit more sense now and I couldn’t help but feel sorry for this person.

So there was one more issue for Mia to deal with and then there were the interviews with the local artist, but that was only a small part. For the most part this book is about the issue and besides that it’s nicely wrapping up the series with a fun Christmas spent with her new family. It was heartwarming and made me happy to see her have her first Christmas tree and a fun holiday. I could really feel her happiness and I am so happy for Mia that after this whole journey she found her place. You could really feel her love and care for the people around there.

It was an uplifting and perfect ending to the series and the line Trust the Journey really fits. After everything she has been through it’s great to see how she has changed and the new person she has become and how she’s found her place. There is a sweet epilogue from Wes his point of view and then we get to see how all the other side characters are doing, which I thought was a great addition. As Mia meets so many people along the way and it was neat to see how everyone their life will continue afterwards.

To summarize: this was the perfect ending to the series. It made me feel happy and satisfied with how things ended. There’s one more issue for Mia to deal with and I am glad we got that last piece as it did explain a few things and I thought it was handled realistically. It is a heartwarming and fulfilling ending to the series. I especially liked how we got to see how all the side characters Mia met throughout the books were doing at the end. And it’s just so amazing to see how Mia has changed throughout this series and how she finally found love, family and a place to belong. All in all a great ending to this series!

    • I am glad I actually managed to review this series one book per month :). It was fun. And I was really happy things ended on such a high note, definitely a great ending to the series.

  1. Neat how there was a surprise twist that made everything from before make sense and connect. Love the mountain Christmas for her and her family. Glad your last book was a solid good one.

My last series ender was Night Shift by Charlaine Harris. Loved the trilogy and wish there were more.

    • It was so fun to see them all celebrate Christmas up on the mountains. The last twist really helped explain some things and make sense of them.

Glad to hear that series ended on a high note, but a bit sad there won’t be more books.

    • Yes each book covers a month in time and if I am correct it also got published one book each month, last year. I only heard about this series in January this year and decided to review the series one book each month :).
